A manual single channel pipette is a universal pipette used for accurate and precise sampling and dispensing of liquid volume, operated based on the principle of air displacement, and using a disposable pipette tip.
The maintenance and application skills of manual single channel pipettes mainly include the following aspects:
maintenance
Daily cleaning: Regularly clean the outer wall of the pipette with 95% alcohol or 60% isopropanol, then wipe it with distilled water and let it dry naturally.
Check for leaks: After suctioning the liquid, suspend it vertically for a few seconds and observe if the liquid level drops to check for any leaks.
• Proper placement: After use, it should be hung vertically on the pipette rack, avoiding horizontal or inverted placement to prevent liquid backflow from corroding the piston spring.
Spring protection: When not in use for a long time, the range of the pipette should be adjusted to the maximum scale to keep the spring in a relaxed state to protect it.
Application skills
• Suction head installation: Insert the pipette vertically into the suction head, gently press and rotate it left and right to secure the suction head, avoiding repeated impacts that may cause parts to loosen.
• Capacity setting: When adjusting from large volume to small volume, rotate counterclockwise to the scale; When adjusting from a small volume to a large volume, first adjust the set volume clockwise, and then adjust it back to the desired scale to ensure optimal accuracy.
• Liquid suction and discharge: When suctioning, press the button to the first gear, then release the button to suction and control the speed to avoid liquid entering the suction head too quickly; When draining the liquid, press it tightly against the wall of the container, pause briefly at the first level, and then press it to the second level to remove any remaining liquid.
• Tips for suctioning and draining: When suctioning, it is necessary to suctioning vertically and control the depth of immersion of the suction head; When draining the liquid, it should be tightly attached to the container wall. First, press it to the first gear for a slight pause, and then press it to the second gear to remove the remaining liquid.
