Instructions for using a pipette

Pipette is an important tool used in laboratories for precise transfer of liquids, and its standardized operation is crucial for the accuracy of experimental results. The following are the usage methods and precautions for pipettes:

1、 Preparation before use

Check the pipette: Confirm the accuracy level and clear scale lines of the pipette, check for any damage to the nozzle and tip, and do not use a damaged pipette.

Washing and Moisturizing:

After rinsing with tap water, if water droplets hang on the inner wall, soak it in chromic acid solution or synthetic detergent for cleaning, and then rinse it 3-5 times with distilled water until the inner wall is evenly wetted.

When rinsing, it is necessary to rinse with the solution to be taken 2-3 times to avoid diluting the solution with residual moisture.

2、 Procedure for pipetting operation

Extract liquid:

Insert the pipette vertically 1-2cm below the liquid level, slowly aspirate with an ear wash ball to above the scale line, and quickly seal the tube opening with the index finger.

After removal, dry the outer wall of the tube tip and adjust the liquid level to be tangent to the concave liquid level and the marking line.

Release liquid:

Translate into EnglishpipetteTightly adhere to the inner wall of the receiving container, maintain a vertical position, and release the index finger to allow the liquid to flow out naturally.

After the liquid has flowed out, wait for 15 seconds (for high viscosity solutions, the time should be extended). Non marked pipettes should not blow out residual liquid.

3、 Precautions

Operating standards: The pipette should be kept vertical to avoid errors caused by tilting; Do not touch the scale line area when holding.

Cleaning and storage: After cleaning, air dry naturally and do not bake; Long term no need to check the accuracy of the measurement range.

Special marking: Pipettes marked with the word "blow" need to blow out residual liquid.
