Pulse bag filter: common faults and solutions

Pulse bag filter, with its efficient dust filtration capability, is widely used in industrial processes such as drying, crushing, and conveying, providing support for workshop environmental purification and material recovery. In long-term operation, equipment may malfunction due to factors such as dust characteristics, operation and maintenance. Here are several common problems and corresponding solutions to help ensure the stable operation of equipment.
The common faults and solutions of pulse bag filter are as follows:
1、 Filter bag system malfunction
1. Damaged or aged filter bag
Phenomenon: Excessive emission concentration or chimney ash emission.
Solution: Use fluorescent powder leak detection testing to locate damaged filter bags, and replace filter bags with a damaged area>5cm ²; If used for more than 3 years, it is recommended to replace it as a whole.
2. Filter bag blockage
Phenomenon: The resistance of the dust collector increases and the air volume decreases.
Solution: Adjust the injection pressure (recommended 0.3-0.35MPa) and cleaning cycle, and check whether the compressed air contains moisture or impurities.
2、 Dust cleaning system malfunction
1. Pulse valve malfunction
Phenomenon: Weak blowing, continuous air leakage, or electromagnetic valve not functioning.
Solution: Replace the diaphragm or valve core, check the airbag pressure (≥ 0.3MPa), and clear the exhaust hole.
2. Poor dust cleaning effect
Phenomenon: Excessive accumulation of dust on the surface of the filter bag.
Solution: Shorten the spraying interval (such as setting it to 90 seconds for high concentration dust), optimize the spraying timing, or install a Venturi tube to enhance the cleaning effect.
3、 Abnormal resistance issue
1. Resistance too high (>1500Pa)
Reason: Failure of dust cleaning, dust agglomeration, or overload of air volume.
Solution: Check the working status of the pulse valve, clean the accumulated ash in the ash hopper, and adjust the system air volume.
2. Sudden drop in resistance
Possible reasons: Damaged filter bag or poorly sealed flower board.
Solution: Replace the damaged filter bag, repair the flower plate weld or sealing gasket.
4、 Control system malfunction
1. PLC program disorder
Solution: Check for electromagnetic interference, recalibrate the differential pressure sensor (adjust if error>10%), and backup the program.
2. Sensor drift
Solution: Regularly calibrate the sensor and check the oxidation status of the wiring terminals.
5、 Other issues
1. Ash hopper blockage
Solution: Inspect the star shaped ash discharge valve and strengthen the insulation of the ash hopper to prevent condensation.
2. Fan wear and tear
Reason: Excessive dust or improper selection.
Solution: Check the wear of the fan impeller and replace or adjust the air volume if necessary.
In daily use, it is recommended to regularly (such as weekly) inspect key components such as filter bags, pulse valves, and ash hoppers, and conduct comprehensive maintenance once a month (such as cleaning pipelines and replacing lubricating oil), which can significantly reduce the occurrence of failures.
