The maintenance and upkeep of an efficient rotary granulator are key to ensuring stable operation and extending its service life. The following is a summary of maintenance points based on different types of granulators:
1、 Core principles of daily maintenance
Maintenance should follow the principles of "cleaning, anti blocking, lubrication, rust prevention, and component inspection", especially paying attention to thorough cleaning after each use to prevent material residue and clumping from causing blockage or contamination. Specifically, it includes:
1. Cleaning: After turning off the power, disassemble the mold and cutter, clean the residual materials with a soft bristled brush, and use toothpicks/fine wire to clear the gaps; Wipe the inner wall of the barrel with alcohol (food/pharmaceutical grade models need to be wiped with purified water and dried).
2. Lubrication: Regularly inspect moving parts such as worm gears, worms, bearings, etc. to ensure flexibility and no wear, and promptly replenish or replace lubricating grease.
3. Rust prevention: When the equipment is stopped, the body should be wiped clean and covered with a cloth to avoid contact with acidic or corrosive gases.
2、 Key component maintenance
1. Ring mold and pressure roller:
The appropriate hole depth and roughness of the ring mold should be selected based on the material characteristics. Before using the new ring mold, it needs to be run in with oily materials to avoid direct high load production.
The gap between the pressure roller and the ring mold should be controlled between 0.1~0.3mm. If it is too small, it will aggravate wear, and if it is too large, it will affect the quality of granulation. The surface of the pressure roller needs to be kept clean to avoid material accumulation and slipping.
2. Transmission system: Check the tightness of the V-belt and the sealing of the bearings, and regularly replace vulnerable parts such as sealing rings and coupling rubber rings.
3、 Regular inspection and debugging
1. Monthly inspection: Focus on checking the wear of worm gears, worm gears, and bearings. If they are not flexible or severely worn, they need to be repaired or replaced in a timely manner.
2. Annual maintenance: Thoroughly disassemble and inspect the clearance between the mixing blade, scraper, and inner wall, clean the bearings and replace the lubricating grease, and check whether the main drive shaft is bent or worn.
4、 Operation precautions
1. Startup sequence: Start the main motor first, then turn on the conditioning motor, and finally turn on the feeding motor to avoid blockage caused by excessive feeding.
2. Shutdown maintenance: After production is completed, turn off the vehicle in reverse order, clean the rotating drum and return it to its original position. If it is not in use for a long time, thoroughly clean the equipment.
Through the above maintenance methods, the operating efficiency of the rotary granulator can be effectively improved, the failure rate can be reduced, and the stability of particle quality can be ensured.
