Material adaptability and parameter adjustment of disc dryer equipment
Date: 2025-11-25Read: 5

  Disc dryer equipmentAs a continuous contact drying equipment, it is widely used in chemical, pharmaceutical, food and other fields due to its compact structure, high thermal efficiency, and stable operation. Its core competitiveness lies in its wide adaptability to different materials and flexible parameter control ability, which directly affects drying efficiency and product quality.

1、 The underlying support for material adaptability
The adaptability of the disc dryer equipment comes from its unique structural design. The core component is a drying tower composed of stacked hollow heating plates, each layer of which can independently introduce steam or thermal oil to transfer heat through conduction; The material moves layer by layer under the push of a scraper, achieving a drying process of "uniform heating of thin layers+dynamic rolling". This design enables it to be compatible with materials of various forms and characteristics:
• Granular/powdery materials (such as fertilizers, pigments): The thickness of the material layer formed by the rotation of the disc is controllable (usually 2-10mm) to avoid clumping or scattering;
Paste like materials (such as sludge and traditional Chinese medicine extract): By adjusting the feeding amount and scraper speed, it can prevent wall sticking and accelerate surface water evaporation;
Thermally sensitive materials (such as vegetable powder and enzyme preparations): Due to their large heat transfer area and adjustable residence time (several minutes to several hours), combined with a low-temperature heat source (≤ 120 ℃), they can achieve mild drying and reduce the loss of active ingredients.

2、 Key dimensions of parameter adjustment
To adapt to different materials, it is necessary to dynamically optimize around the four core parameters of "temperature, speed, layer thickness, and vacuum degree":
1. Temperature control: The temperature of the heating medium should match the heat resistance of the material. For example, when drying thermosensitive materials, the steam pressure should be controlled at 0.2-0.4 MPa (corresponding to a disk temperature of 80-100 ℃); When drying inorganic minerals, it can be increased to 0.6-0.8 MPa to enhance heat transfer.
2. Spindle speed and scraper frequency: The speed determines the residence time of the material (the lower the speed, the longer the residence time). Paste like materials require low speed (3-5 r/min) to extend the drying time, while granular materials can be increased to 8-12 r/min to improve processing capacity. The frequency of the scraper should be coordinated with the rotational speed to avoid excessive thickness of the material layer causing "entrapment" or insufficient thickness, which can reduce efficiency.
3. Material layer thickness: It is generally recommended to adjust the particle material layer by 5-8mm and the paste material layer by 2-4mm through the feeder to ensure a balance between heat penetration and moisture diffusion rate.
4. Vacuum degree (for vacuum type equipment): Reducing system pressure can lower the boiling point of water, suitable for high humidity or easily oxidizable materials (such as pharmaceutical intermediates). For every 10kPa increase in vacuum degree, the drying temperature can be reduced by about 5 ℃.
3、 Dynamic adjustment logic in practice
In actual production, it is necessary to continuously optimize parameters by combining online monitoring data, such as export humidity and temperature field distribution. For example, when dealing with materials with strong moisture absorption, the scraper speed can be gradually increased to damage the surface hard shell and promote internal moisture migration; If local overheating is found to cause burning, the temperature setting of the heating plate in the corresponding area needs to be lowered.
