Explanation of the specific differences between Liuqin Technology Xenon Lamp Aging Test Chamber and UV Aging Test Chamber
For artificial accelerated aging, the two commonly used light sources in the world are fluorescent ultraviolet lamps and xenon arc lamps. The spectral distribution of fluorescent ultraviolet lamps can only simulate the ultraviolet segment of sunlight, while the spectrum of xenon lamps simulates the entire spectrum of sunlight. Therefore, using xenon lamps as light sources and evaluating the actual service life of polymer materials outdoors has higher feasibility.
The xenon lamp aging test chamber uses a xenon arc lamp that can simulate the full spectrum of sunlight to reproduce the destructive light waves present in different environments, providing corresponding environmental simulation and accelerated testing for scientific research, product development, and quality control. It is also known as the "sunlight radiation protection test device". According to the test standards and methods, it is divided into three types: air-cooled xenon lamp (LQ-XD-80) and water-cooled xenon lamp (LQ-XD-500), with differences in temperature, humidity, accuracy, time, etc. The xenon arc lamp artificial climate aging test is considered to be a relatively good simulation method for artificial climate aging testing at present. Xenon arc lamp light source is currently a highly analog light source, and theoretically it has been determined that xenon lamps are better than other light sources. Its spectral energy distribution in the ultraviolet and visible regions is similar to that of sunlight. It is a testing instrument in the aging test chamber series.
The UV aging test chamber is suitable for aging tests of non-metallic materials under sunlight and artificial light sources. The lamp source uses 8 ultraviolet fluorescent lamps with a rated power of 40W as the light source. UV fluorescent tubes are distributed on both sides of the machine, with 4 on each side (with UVA-340 and UVB-313 light sources for users to choose from). Design and manufacture according to the corresponding standard clauses such as GB/T14522-2008 "National Standard of the People's Republic of China - Plastic, Coating, and Rubber Materials for Mechanical Industry Products - Accelerated Test Method for Artificial Climate" GB/T16585-1996 "National Standard of the People's Republic of China - Test Method for Artificial Climate Aging of Vulcanized Rubber (Fluorescent UV Lamp)" and GB/T16422.3-1997 "Laboratory Light Source Exposure Test Method for Plastics". Fluorescent UV aging is commonly used in coatings, textiles, adhesives, and other products
Comparison of destructive power between the two
The UV aging test chamber causes greater damage to materials! Fluorescent ultraviolet lamps use low-pressure mercury arc to excite fluorescent substances and emit ultraviolet light, which can produce a continuous spectrum in a narrow wavelength range, usually with only one peak. The simulation of artificial climate aging test using fluorescent ultraviolet lamps is poor, but the acceleration rate is high.
Note: Xenon arc lamps cannot replace fluorescent ultraviolet lamps, and the performance of the two test chambers is different, resulting in different experimental results.
The above is a specific explanation of the differences between Liuqin Technology's xenon lamp aging test chamber and ultraviolet aging test chamber
