Instructions for using an experimental reactor
Date: 2024-10-16Read: 4
1. Safe operation: Before using the experimental reactor, ensure safe operation first. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as laboratory coats, gloves, goggles, and masks. Check if the reactor is damaged or leaking, and ensure that the correct seals are used.
2. Set reaction conditions: Determine the required conditions for the reaction, such as temperature, pressure, and reaction time. According to the experimental requirements, choose the appropriate heating method, which can use an electric heating rod or an external heating source for heating.
3. Prepare reactants: Prepare the substances that need to be reacted and accurately weigh them according to the experimental plan. Be careful not to add the reactants directly into the reaction vessel. They should be dissolved in a suitable solvent first.
4. Add reactants and solvent: First, open the inlet valve of the reaction vessel and slowly add the reactants and solvent into the reaction vessel while maintaining stirring. Ensure that the reactants and solvents can be thoroughly mixed.
5. Heating the reaction kettle: According to the experimental requirements, heat the reaction kettle to the appropriate temperature. Use a temperature control device to control the heating rate of the reaction and maintain a constant temperature. Meanwhile, stirring or agitation can be carried out as needed.
6. Monitoring reaction: Regularly monitor the progress of the reaction during the reaction process. Appropriate detection methods can be used to measure the concentration, physical properties, and chemical properties of reactants and products.
7. Control reaction time: When the predetermined reaction time is reached, stop heating and cool the reaction vessel to room temperature. Use cooling water or cooling system to accelerate the cooling rate of the reaction vessel
8. Separate products: According to experimental requirements, use appropriate separation techniques such as centrifugation, filtration, or extraction to separate products and solvents. Collect products and conduct further analysis and testing.
9. Cleaning and maintenance: After completing the experiment, clean the reaction vessel promptly. Use appropriate solvents and detergents to clean and ensure the reactor is clean. At the same time, pay attention to checking whether the sealing components of the reaction kettle are intact, and maintain the post use maintenance of the reaction kettle to extend its service life.
