Why do rotary tablet presses not form tablets

Rotary tablet pressThe adjustment and control of film production are essential, otherwise it will affect the thickness, appearance, and quality of the tablets. If there are any problems, they need to be adjusted in a timely manner. Do you know what caused the tablets to not form during the production process due to various reasons?

1. High fiber content. If the fiber content of the raw material itself is high in the tablet pressing process, it is very easy to produce spacing between particles, reduce the cohesion between particles, and make it difficult to extrude the tablets. In this case, the raw material should be screened with a suitable sieve before use.

2. Inappropriate adhesion. Excessive adhesion can easily cause the tablet raw materials to adhere to the tablet press during the compression process. In such cases, diluents should be added to reduce the adhesion of the raw materials; If the viscosity is not sufficient, it will cause the pressed tablets to not be extruded into shape. In this case, an appropriate amount of adhesive should be added to compress the tablets into shape.

3. Excessive moisture content. Excessive moisture in raw materials can increase the adhesion of tablets, but once the tablets dry, they are prone to breakage. In this case, the raw materials should be dehydrated beforehand.

The above are the reasons why rotary tablet presses do not form tablets. Users need to pay attention to these aspects during the use of the equipment and the processing of raw materials, in order to reduce the probability of tablets not forming, improve equipment production efficiency, and reduce product defect rates.
