Selection guide for intelligent anti-corrosion electromagnetic flowmeter
Date: 2024-08-22Read: 4
At present, there are various types of electromagnetic flow meters on the market, which are generally suitable for different industrial applications. The situation in industrial settings is quite complex, with high and low temperatures, corrosiveness, and high and negative pressure. With so many situations, the selection requirements for electromagnetic flow meters are particularly high. If you are looking for an intelligent anti-corrosion electromagnetic flowmeter, then you must be familiar with the electrodes and lining of electromagnetic flowmeters.
At present, the intelligent electromagnetic flow meters on the market can be divided into several different specifications according to the different measuring media. Take the conventional pipeline electromagnetic flowmeter as an example, there are many types of electrodes and liners. The lining material of electromagnetic flowmeter is selected based on the corrosiveness, wear resistance, and temperature of the measured medium, and can be divided into several main types: polytetrafluoroethylene (F4/PTFE), chloroprene rubber (CR), polyurethane rubber (PU), PTFE (F46/FEP), and copolymer (PFA). And electrodes are divided into several types, such as 316L stainless steel electrodes, titanium electrodes, Ha B electrodes, Ha C electrodes, tantalum electrodes, tungsten carbide electrodes, etc.
What are the differences between the lining and electrode materials mentioned above?
Like conventional stainless steel electrodes, they are generally used on weakly corrosive media. And Ha B and Ha C electrodes are respectively applied to some non oxidizing acids and oxidizing acids. These are relatively conventional electrodes, and their prices are not very high. Other electrodes, such as titanium electrodes, are commonly used for measuring seawater, while tantalum electrodes, except for hydrofluoric acid and fuming sulfuric acid, can withstand corrosion from almost all chemical substances. These two types of electrodes are relatively expensive. Platinum electrode, which is commonly known as platinum, is naturally expensive, but its functionality is also powerful, suitable for almost all chemical substances, but not suitable for aqua regia and ammonium salts. Finally, there is a special electrode called tungsten carbide electrode, which is suitable for non corrosive but highly abrasive media.
Let's talk about the lining again. The lining is actually matched with the electrode. Generally speaking, there are two types of lining: rubber lining and PTFE lining. Rubber lining generally has good wear resistance, while PTFE lining has good corrosion resistance.
If you need to purchase an intelligent anti-corrosion electromagnetic flowmeter, pay special attention to finding a real electromagnetic flowmeter manufacturer to customize it. Because electromagnetic flow meters are widely used in industrial settings, the measured media are basically sewage, chemical products, acid or alkali liquids, etc. If the quality of the electromagnetic flow meter is not up to standard, the measurement is inaccurate, or there is a pipeline leak on site, it will pose a great threat to property and even human life safety.

In addition, for intelligent anti-corrosion electromagnetic flow meters, besides electrodes and liners, other selection is also important.
Firstly, the accuracy of the electromagnetic flowmeter. Conventional electromagnetic flow meters can generally achieve an accuracy of 0.5 or 1.0 level. The higher the accuracy, the more accurate the test and the smaller the error. This is particularly important in situations that require industrial control.
Next is the diameter of the electromagnetic flowmeter. The caliber is generally related to the nominal pressure. Taking the conventional pipeline electromagnetic flowmeter as an example, its diameter is often related to its nominal pressure. Generally, small diameter electromagnetic flowmeters, such as those between DN10 and DN150, can withstand pressure up to 4.0MPA; The larger the caliber, the smaller the pressure resistance it can withstand. For example, the pipeline between DN200-DN600 can withstand a pressure of 1.6MPA. Can some large-diameter pipelines, such as those between DN700-DN1200, withstand pressure? 1.0MPA。 In addition, those with higher pressure resistance or smaller pipe diameters need to be customized from manufacturers, which most distributors or agents do not have the ability to do.
Another important selection factor is the temperature resistance level. The temperature resistance level can be divided into three levels: T1/T2/T3. The temperature resistance level is also related to the material of the lining. Use CR/PU for temperatures ≤ 60 ℃; PTEP/FEP is used for temperatures ≤ 120 ℃; PFA is used for temperatures ≤ 200 ℃.
The rest is about the selection of power supply methods and output signals. The commonly used power supply methods are 24VDC and 220AC, and lithium batteries can also be used for power supply. And the output signal can be 4-20mA, RS485 output, pulse signal, HART output, etc.
I believe the editor has introduced so much that you must know the key points to pay attention to when choosing an intelligent anti-corrosion electromagnetic flowmeter, right? If some readers feel that it is really troublesome to confirm so many parameters and choose their own models. So the editor suggests that you can search for some well-known electromagnetic flowmeter manufacturers, such as joint measuring instruments. Their LDG-SIN series electromagnetic flowmeters are very useful, and the electrodes and lining are basically complete, which can help you with selection and quotation services.
