Principle and classification of turbine agitator
Date: 2021-08-25Read: 10
Turbine agitator (also known as turbine impeller) is a widely used agitator that can effectively complete almost all mixing operations and handle fluids with a wide viscosity range. Composed of installing 2-4 straight or curved blades on a horizontal disc. The ratio of the outer diameter, width, and height of the blade is generally 20:5:4, and the circumferential velocity is generally 3-8m/s. Turbine generates highly turbulent radial flow during rotation, suitable for the dispersion of gases and immiscible liquids, as well as liquid-liquid phase reaction processes.
There are various forms of turbine agitators, which can be divided into disc turbine agitators and open turbine agitators according to the presence or absence of discs; According to the impeller, it can be divided into straight blade, folded blade, and rear curved blade turbine agitator.
Compared with the open turbine agitator, the disc turbine agitator has a lower circulation rate due to the presence of the disc; Compared with the flat turbine agitator, the folded blade turbine agitator has a relatively smaller shear effect due to its strong axial flow; The main difference between a curved blade turbine and a flat turbine agitator is that the impeller of the curved blade turbine agitator is less prone to wear and has lower power consumption.
