The drum screen mainly consists of a motor, a reducer, a drum device, a frame, a sealing cover, and an inlet and outlet. Drum screen is a commonly used screening machine, mainly used for large-scale processing of river sand, yellow sand and other graded screening equipment. It is mainly applied in different industries such as stone factories, coking plants, power plants, mines, metallurgy, and building materials.
The working principle of drum screen:
The drum device is generally installed obliquely on the frame. The electric motor is connected to the drum device through a coupling via a reducer, driving the drum device to rotate around its axis. After the material enters the drum device, due to the tilt and rotation of the drum device, the material on the screen surface flips and rolls, causing qualified materials (undersized products) to be discharged through the discharge port at the bottom of the rear end of the drum, and unqualified materials (undersized products) to be discharged through the discharge port at the tail end of the drum. Due to the flipping and rolling of materials inside the drum, materials stuck in the sieve holes can be ejected to prevent blockage of the sieve holes. The principle and structure of drum sand screening machine and drum screening machine are almost the same as that of drum screen, but there are differences in people's understanding and naming of them.
Operation and maintenance of drum screen
The cage type drum screen operates reliably and requires minimal maintenance. The following is a brief description of several issues that should be noted during operation:
1. When driving, the cage type drum screen must be turned on first, and then the feeding equipment can be turned on; The opposite is true when parking;
2. During the first three days of operation, the fasteners of the cage type drum screen should be checked daily, and any looseness should be promptly tightened. In the future, regular (weekly or bi monthly) inspections and handling of the fasteners of the cage type drum screen can be carried out;
3. The bearing seat and gearbox should be regularly checked for lubrication, and oil should be added and changed in a timely manner. The main shaft bearing adopts No.2 lithium based grease. Normally, the grease should be added every two months, and the amount should not be too much, otherwise it may cause the bearing to overheat. All bearings should be cleaned and inspected once a year.
4. When restarting equipment that has been out of use for a long time (more than 30 days), the motor insulation should be shake tested to avoid motor burnout.
