Due to the redox effect of hydrogen peroxide itself, it has the function of sterilization, especially in killing anaerobic Bacillus. The principle of action of hydrogen peroxide is to dissociate highly active hydroxyl groups through complex chemical reactions, which are used to attack cellular components, including cell membranes, lipids, proteins, and DNA. By "flash evaporation", liquid hydrogen peroxide is converted into H2O2 dry mist, which can be effectively carried out directly in a normal temperature and humidity environment without the need for dehumidification or other pretreatment. The hydrogen peroxide dry mist is uniformly introduced into the enclosed space, and its inner surface is completely exposed to the hydrogen peroxide dry mist, forming a hydrogen peroxide film of about 1 μ m, which adheres to the surface of microorganisms that may reside there. The microorganisms themselves will be enveloped by the micro condensation formed as the core and quickly killed in this process.
The hydrogen peroxide sterilizer mainly has the following characteristics:
1. Disinfection and sterilization can be carried out directly at room temperature;
2. The cycle of hydrogen peroxide dry mist disinfection and sterilization is relatively short, only requiring 5 to 7 hours, while the cycle of steam disinfection and sterilization requires 8 to 10 hours, and the cycle of ethylene oxide gas disinfection and sterilization requires 12 to 18 hours;
3. The use of hydrogen peroxide dry mist for disinfection and sterilization will not cause harm to operators or pollution to the environment, as its final residue is water and oxygen;
4. Steam sterilization causes significant pressure differences in the chamber, and long-term repeated pressure and vacuum pumping can shorten the service life of the equipment. However, using hydrogen peroxide dry mist sterilization can extend the operating life and maintenance cycle of the equipment due to improved pressure and temperature conditions;
5. If steam is used for long-term disinfection and sterilization, the humid and hot gas will easily damage the passivation film on the surface of the stainless steel inside the chamber. However, using hydrogen peroxide dry mist for disinfection and sterilization can cause minimal damage to the passivation film on the surface of the stainless steel inside the chamber.
6. Using a mobile (with casters) hydrogen peroxide dry mist (VHP) generator, it can sterilize multiple devices and reduce the initial investment cost of the equipment;
7. Good penetration of HEPA filter (glass fiber);
8. It will not affect other items, such as devices, appliances, or cleanroom wall panels.
