What are the heating methods for reaction vessels
Date: 2023-06-25Read: 3
A reactor is a container for physical or chemical reactions, and some reactions require heating, so the reactor also has heating function. There are various heating methods for general reaction vessels, including:
1. Hot water heating
It can be used when the required temperature is not high. Heating systems are divided into open and closed types. The open mouth is simple and consists of a circulation pump, water tank, pipeline, and control valve regulator. When using high-pressure water, high mechanical strength of the equipment is required. A coil is welded on the outer surface of the reaction vessel, and there is a gap between the coil and the reaction vessel wall, which increases the thermal resistance of the reaction vessel and reduces the heat transfer effect.
2. Electric heating
The resistance wire is wrapped around the insulation layer of the reaction vessel cylinder or installed on an insulation material at a certain distance from the reaction vessel, thereby forming a small spatial gap between the resistance wire and the reaction vessel body, and heating the reaction vessel through the heating of the resistance wire.

3. Steam heating
When the heating temperature of the reaction vessel is below 100 ° C, steam at one atmosphere can be used for heating; Saturated steam is used within the temperature range of 100-180 ° C. When the temperature of the reaction vessel is high, high-pressure superheated steam can be used.

4. Thermal oil heating
The characteristics of this heating method are high thermal efficiency, uniform heating, and lower operating costs compared to steam heating and electric heating. However, its fatal flaw is that it is highly dangerous, and after one year of equipment operation, its heat transfer efficiency will significantly decrease, requiring the replacement of heat transfer oil and heat exchange pipelines.
5. Electromagnetic heater heating
The electromagnetic heater of the reaction kettle can heat up to 500-550 degrees Celsius. The electromagnetic coil is directly wound around the outside of the tank to generate a magnetic field, causing the tank to heat up on its own, while the coil itself does not heat up. Combined with the wrapped insulation layer, the thermal efficiency can reach over 95%, and the service life is over 15 years.
