The application of alcohol precipitation tanks is very extensive, mainly used in the alcohol precipitation process of mixing traditional Chinese medicine extracts or other solutions with ethanol. Its core function is to utilize the characteristic of effective ingredients being soluble in ethanol while impurities are insoluble in ethanol, in order to achieve the separation and purification of effective ingredients. Alcohol precipitation tanks are widely used in industries such as traditional Chinese medicine, oral liquids, and food and health products. They are also suitable for suspension freezing or room temperature precipitation, solid-liquid phase separation processes in chemical, dye, and other fields.
The working principle of alcohol precipitation tank (alcohol precipitation tank) is based on settling liquid-solid phase separation technology. The working process mainly includes the following stages:
• Mixing stage: Inject the solution that needs to undergo alcohol precipitation treatment into the tank through the feeding port, and add an appropriate amount of ethanol according to the process requirements. The stirring device starts working to thoroughly mix the solution and ethanol.
• Precipitation stage: During the stirring process, due to the action of ethanol, the solubility of certain components in the solution decreases and gradually precipitates. At the same time, the cooling device plays a role in controlling the temperature of the alcohol precipitation process to ensure the precipitation effect and product quality.
• Separation stage: After a certain period of alcohol precipitation reaction, the precipitate material settles at the bottom of the tank. Stop stirring at this time, open the supernatant discharge valve, and use a pump or vacuum to extract the supernatant. As the liquid level of the supernatant gradually decreases, adjust the angle of the outlet tube and observe the top mirror to ensure that the supernatant is extracted without being carried into the sediment.
• Slag discharge stage: After the supernatant is extracted, close the discharge valve. If sediment needs to be discharged, the bottom slag outlet can be opened for collection and treatment. For high viscosity sediments, auxiliary equipment such as pneumatic controlled slag discharge doors can be used to reduce labor intensity.
