The hot reflux extraction and concentration unit is an equipment that integrates extraction and concentration functions. Its process principle is mainly achieved through the following steps:
1. Mixing of raw materials and solvents
Put the medicinal herbs or materials into the extraction tank, add 5-10 times the amount of solvent (such as water, ethanol, etc.), and perform cold soaking or heating pretreatment.
2. Circulating heating extraction
Open the steam valve to heat the extraction tank, and the liquid medicine is pumped to the heater for evaporation. The generated secondary steam condenses and flows back to the top of the extraction tank for spraying, achieving solvent recycling. This process lasts for 3-4 hours and promotes the dissolution of active ingredients through concentration differences.
3. Vacuum concentration
After extraction is completed, the medicinal solution is drawn into the evaporator under vacuum conditions for heating and concentration. The secondary steam is recovered through the condenser, and the remaining medicinal solution is gradually concentrated into a paste. The temperature is usually controlled between 50-70 ℃ to protect thermosensitive components.
4. Solvent recovery
Volatile solvents (such as ethanol) are recovered through condensation and oil-water separators, reducing waste and meeting environmental requirements.
The core advantage of this process lies in the fully enclosed circulation system, which achieves efficient solvent utilization through hot reflux, and completes extraction and concentration simultaneously, significantly improving the yield and reducing energy consumption. The equipment usually consists of components such as extraction tanks, condensers, evaporators, vacuum pumps, etc., supporting automated operations.
