The TN series small-scale extraction and concentration unit is widely used in the extraction, concentration, and solvent recovery processes of Chinese herbal medicine, natural products, and food industries. To ensure efficient operation of equipment, ensure operational safety, and extend equipment lifespan, operators must strictly follow the following precautions:
1、 Preparation before operation
1Equipment status check
Check if the power lines, control panel indicator lights, and instruments are functioning properly to ensure that the electrical system has no faults.
Confirm that there are no residual materials or debris inside the device to avoid affecting the extraction efficiency or causing blockages.
Check whether the feeding pipeline, discharging pipeline, and cooling system are unobstructed to prevent leakage or abnormal flow.
Verify the integrity of sealing devices (such as gaskets and rubber liners), replace aging components in a timely manner, and avoid the risk of leakage.
2、 Precautions for operation process
1Feeding and solvent usage
•The feeding amount must strictly comply with the equipment specifications to avoid overloading causing equipment damage or efficiency decline.
•When using organic solvents such as ethanol, vacuum operation or cooling by a cooler should be preferred before flowing into the extraction tank. Forced circulation by a water pump is strictly prohibited to prevent solvent evaporation or explosion risks.
2Pressure and temperature control
•Real time monitoring of pressure and temperature to ensure parameters are within set thresholds; If it exceeds the range, the equipment should automatically shut down for protection, and the operator should immediately investigate the cause.
•When the heating system is started, the steam pressure shall not exceed 0.2MPa, and pressure reducing valves, safety valves, and pressure gauges shall be equipped to prevent overpressure accidents.
3Concentration and recycling process
•Before starting the vacuum pump, ensure that the vacuum degree meets the set requirements. During the concentration process, dynamically adjust the discharge valve control speed to avoid excessive or insufficient concentration.
•Monitor the density and degree of concentrated solution to ensure compliance with product quality standards; The specific gravity of the concentrate is usually controlled within the range of 1.1-1.38.
•When recovering organic solvents, it is necessary to conduct it in a closed flow path to avoid the phenomenon of "running, emitting, and leaking" and ensure environmental and operational safety.
4Cleaning and maintenance
•After each batch of production, CIP online cleaning should be carried out immediately, and the residue detection value should be less than 1 μ g/cm ² to prevent cross contamination.
•Regularly inspect vulnerable parts (such as seals and valves), replace aging components in a timely manner, and ensure the sealing performance of the equipment.

3、 Post operation processing
1Equipment shutdown and cleaning
•Stop the heating, cooling system, and vacuum pump, close the feed and discharge valves, cut off the power supply, and prevent equipment from idling or leaking.
•Clean up the operation site, remove residual materials, keep the environment clean, and avoid safety hazards caused by the accumulation of debris.
2Maintenance and recording
•After the operation is completed, conduct equipment inspection, record operating parameters and abnormal situations, and provide a basis for subsequent maintenance.
•Regularly inspect key components such as pressure gauges and valves to ensure instrument sensitivity and air circuit patency.
4、 Emergency and safety regulations
3exception handling
•When there is abnormal noise, odor or leakage in the equipment, immediately stop the machine and cut off the power supply. Contact professional personnel for repair, and unauthorized handling is strictly prohibited.
•If the liquid level sensor malfunctions and causes abnormal liquid level, it is necessary to adjust the sensor or manually control it in a timely manner to prevent overflow or idling.
4Environmental and Material Management
•The operating environment should be kept clean and dry to avoid dust and moisture affecting equipment performance; The material characteristics need to be adapted to the equipment parameters and the operating conditions adjusted.
•It is prohibited to place flammable and explosive materials near the equipment to ensure the safety of electrical equipment and prevent fire or explosion accidents.
5Operating Specifications
•It is strictly prohibited to directly touch the equipment with hands during operation. Special tools must be used to avoid mechanical injury.
•Unauthorized personnel are prohibited from entering the operating area, and attention must be maintained throughout the operation to observe the real-time operation status of the equipment.
5、 Long term maintenance recommendations
•Develop an equipment maintenance checklist, regularly inspect components such as seals and pressure gauges to prevent malfunctions in advance and extend equipment lifespan.
•Follow the equipment manual and optimize process parameters based on specific material characteristics to ensure concentration efficiency and product quality.
