How to calibrate an intelligent electronic scale
Date: 2025-11-24Read: 6

The calibration of intelligent electronic scales requires five steps: preparation inspection, entering calibration mode, loading weights, error adjustment, and repeatability verification. The operation details may vary for different models, and it is recommended to follow the instructions.

Preparation before calibration

  1. Equipment inspectionConfirm that the appearance of the electronic scale is clean, the switch is intact, the battery is sufficient, the display screen is bright and complete, and the zero position is accurate.

  2. Environmental RequirementsPlace on a horizontal table to avoid wind and vibration interference, preheat for 15 minutes (some high-precision scales may require longer).

  3. Tool PreparationStandard weight (weight within the range of the scale, recommended to include 1/10 of the maximum scale weight and full scale weight).

General calibration steps

step Operation Manual Precautions
Enter calibration mode After turning on and resetting to zero, press and hold the "Deduct Weight", "Accumulate" or specific combination keys (such as ON/ARE+MODE) until "CAL", "TEST" or weight value prompt is displayed Different brands have different triggering methods, for example, some scales require entering a password or entering through the touch screen menu
Load weights Place 1/10 range weights (center point calibration) and full range weights (range calibration) in sequence according to the prompts, and some require four corner calibration (use an appropriate amount of weights to press the four corners of the scale plate) The weight should be placed at the center of the scale pan to avoid tilting; Four corner error should be ≤ 1d (minimum division value)
Error adjustment Adjust the displayed value to match the weight of the weight through knobs, buttons, or touch screens. After completion, press the "Confirm" or "Accumulate" button to save If the display deviation is large, it may be necessary to adjust the sensor resistance or angle coefficient K value (which requires professional operation)
Verification and zeroing Remove the weight and confirm that the empty scale displays 0; Repeat 4 times to place the full-scale weight, record the reading, and ensure that the error is within the allowable range Repetitive errors exceeding the standard may require recalibration or inspection of sensor faults

✅ Precautions and professional advice

  • frequencyIt is recommended to calibrate once a month. If frequent use or significant environmental changes (such as temperature fluctuations) occur, the frequency can be increased.

  • Permission ManagementIntelligent electronic scales can be set with calibration permissions (such as password protection) to prevent unauthorized operations.

  • Professional SupportIf the error still exceeds the standard after calibration, it may be due to sensor damage or circuit failure. It is recommended to contact the manufacturer or metrology institution
