Process principle of laboratory wet granulation machine
Date: 2025-08-18Read: 6
The laboratory wet granulation machine mainly achieves the conversion of powder to particles through three stages:
1. Mixing and Wetting
Powder materials are fed into a closed material cylinder through vacuum or manual feeding, and form fluidized motion under the action of a stirring blade. The material rolls along the conical wall to form a three-dimensional vortex, achieving rapid and uniform mixing. Subsequently, adhesive (such as syrup) is sprayed in to wet the powder through liquid bridging, forming a soft material. The amount of adhesive used needs to be precisely controlled - too much can cause the particles to become hard, while too little can lead to looseness.
2. Cutting granulation
The high-speed rotating pellet cutter cuts the soft material into shape, and the particle size is adjusted by the cutter speed and the stirring blade speed. The material is subjected to shear force in the extrusion zone and extruded through a sieve to form nearly spherical particles. The hollow particles formed at this stage can significantly shorten the subsequent drying time.
3. Whole grain and discharge
Wet particles are cut twice by a rotating pellet cutter, and the final particle size is adjusted through a sieve to ensure particle uniformity. Fully enclosed operation to avoid cross contamination and comply with GMP standards. The finished particles have excellent flowability and can directly enter the drying process.
The key technical features include: fluidized granulation to improve efficiency, variable frequency control to achieve precise parameter adjustment, and modular design (such as interchangeable mixing drums) to meet laboratory small-scale requirements. The core principle relies on the bridging bonding of adhesives and the synergistic effect of mechanical shear forces.
