A low-temperature crusher is a device that breaks down substances cooled to the brittle point temperature into smaller particles or powders under external force.
Low temperature crushing technology is not a new technology. It was industrialized as early as 1948 and has a long research history in the recycling and utilization of waste rubber, plastics, food, and other materials, with mature technology and processes. However, the application of low-temperature crushing in the recycling of waste circuit boards has only begun in the past decade, and foreign countries have gained some practical experience in this area. The mechanical treatment process for waste circuit boards at Daimler Benz Ulm research center in Germany [7-8], despite increasing the input of liquid nitrogen, still achieves good economic benefits due to its high metal recovery rate and reuse of plastics. In addition, the low-temperature grinding system of AirProduct (a subsidiary of Microtec in the United States) can crush tough materials to 0.075mm after embrittlement at low temperatures, causing metal and non-metal * to dissociate. The research on low-temperature crushing of waste circuit boards in China has just begun. The introduction of technology and equipment not only requires a large amount of capital, but also due to different national conditions, such as different waste treatment costs and liquid nitrogen costs, even if foreign equipment is introduced, it may not be feasible in terms of operating costs, and adjustments need to be made to the process route and equipment selection to varying degrees. Therefore, it is necessary and meaningful to conduct research on low-temperature crushing technology.
