Working principle and characteristics of liquid ring vacuum pump
Date: 2025-03-25Read: 3
Liquid ring vacuum pump is a rotary positive displacement pump that can provide process vacuum in various industrial applications, such as chemical, power, environmental protection, food and beverage processing and packaging, shipbuilding, mining, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, pulp and paper, and textile industries. Liquid ring vacuum pumps use water or other compatible process liquids as sealing liquids. The liquid ring vacuum pump is easy to operate and has no contact parts, making it a safe and reliable choice for handling dirty and potentially hazardous gases. The liquid ring pump has two designs: single-stage and two-stage, and can also be configured as a compressor to achieve more uses.
Working principle of liquid ring vacuum pump
When the impeller rotates, the sealing liquid forms a ring inside the pump body, thereby forming many small chambers for capturing gas. The rotor shaft is eccentric relative to the pump body, so that the liquid is almost filled, and then during a single rotation, almost every rotor chamber is emptied, forming gas compression that produces a pumping effect. The vacuum inlet and atmospheric outlet provide a flow path for the processed gas mixture. The compression heat of the gas is dissipated into the sealing liquid, and a portion of the liquid flows out and is discharged. The exhaust gas and residual water are separated from the airflow and directly directed towards the indoor exhaust gas, and then returned to the pump separately. The sealing liquid is replaced by the continuously flowing sealing liquid of the cooler.
Characteristics of liquid ring vacuum pump
•Allow residuesSoft solids, moisture, debris, chemicals, etc. will not damage the pump. These impurities will be easily washed out through the pump outlet.
•Low temperature and quiet operationDue to the circulation of sealing water inside the pump, the pump will cool down. Relatively quiet during work - not exceeding 85 dBA.
•Stable operation at any vacuum levelThe pump can operate continuously at any vacuum level (from 29 inches of mercury to atmospheric pressure).
•Easy to maintain, longer pump lifeThe liquid ring vacuum pump has a sturdy structure with only one movable component, the rotor, which is installed on a main shaft supported by a set of bearings and designed to have a long continuous operating service life. The benefits this design brings to users are reduced wear and tear, simpler operation, and lower maintenance costs.
•environment protectionThe pump does not require oil change, filter, oil pan, condenser, etc. Therefore, the operation of the computer room is kept clean, free of oil stains, and there is no oil discharge into the sewer.
