The standard GB/T 19787-2025 "Polyolefin Heat Shrinkable Film" drafted by Jinan Languang has been released

On August 29, 2025, GB/T 19787-2025 "Polyolefin Heat Shrinkable Film for Packaging Materials" jointly drafted by Zhejiang Zhongcheng Packaging Materials Co., Ltd., Shandong Product Quality Inspection and Research Institute, Jinan Languang Electromechanical Technology Co., Ltd. (Labthink) and other units was officially released and will be implemented on March 1, 2026, replacing GB/T 19787-2005 in its entirety.

Since its first release in 2005, the polyolefin heat shrink film industry has been continuously innovating under the dual drive of application demand upgrading and process technology innovation. New materials such as high-performance shrink films, cross-linked films, and anti fog films have gradually become mainstream in the market. With the significant improvement of product performance and the mature leap of detection technology, the updating and upgrading of standards has become an inevitable trend.

Therefore, based on the optimization of production processes, equipment upgrades, and changes in market demand, this revision involves changes in multiple key performance indicators: for example, adjustments have been made to the tensile strength indicators to reduce the shrinkage tension during thermal shrinkage and the damage rate during packaging use. Faced with the current trend of improving film rigidity and heat sealing strength by adjusting material ratios and stretching processes, the change in the indicator of elongation at break is an inevitable result. Raising the test temperature for thermal shrinkage rate can effectively distinguish the characteristic differences between ordinary and cross-linked polyolefin thermal shrinkage films. Differentiated control is implemented according to the thickness of the film, with corresponding deviation ranges for thin and thick films, and classified management that is more in line with actual production needs.

During the standard revision period, the drafting team conducted in-depth discussions on the content of the standard through online seminars, data research, and offline field visits. At the same time, the research team systematically collected samples of polyolefin heat shrinkable films, and conducted experimental verification of the physical and mechanical properties of films with different thicknesses by Labthink and other authorized (separated) testing institutions. The validation indicators cover key parameters such as tensile strength, elongation at break, tear resistance, thermal shrinkage, heat sealing strength, haze, and dynamic friction coefficient to ensure the scientific and applicable nature of the standard revision.

As a core technical organization involved in drafting standards, Labthink has provided key testing data and technical support for standard revisions based on its global leading testing technology and data comparison experience. During the standard validation process, Labthink conducted systematic testing on core indicators such as tensile strength and thermal shrinkage rate of the film using self-developed high-precision instruments, such as the C610H intelligent electronic tensile testing machine and RSY-R2 thermal shrinkage tester, to ensure the rigor of the standard parameters. In the future, Labthink will continue to empower standard upgrades with innovative testing technologies to support the high-quality development of the packaging industry.
