The significance of paper thickness testing
It is understood that all paper product manufacturing companies will test the thickness of paper. Because the thickness of the produced paper directly affects its opacity, with thicker paper having lower transparency; Moreover, paper with uneven thickness will experience a decrease in glossiness and whiteness, as well as unstable color reproduction. The GB/T451.3 (GB/T451.3 Methods for Measuring Paper and Paperboard Thickness) standard specifies the testing method for paper thickness, and the CHY-U paper thickness tester from Jinan Zhuyan Instrument Co., Ltd. meets the requirements of this standard.

Testing equipment
The paper thickness was measured using the CHY-U paper thickness tester produced by Jinan Zhuyan Instrument Co., Ltd. in this experiment. This instrument is suitable for measuring the thickness of various hard and soft materials such as thin films, composite films, paper, metal foils, etc. within a range of 2mm.

Equipped with a micro printer, data is displayed in real-time, automatically counted, and printed, making it convenient and fast to obtain test results
Print the maximum value, minimum value, average value, and each measurement result to facilitate user analysis of data
The instrument automatically saves up to 100 sets of test results, which can be viewed and printed at any time
Standard measuring block calibration, convenient for users to quickly calibrate equipment
Equipped with a dedicated automatic sampler, it can achieve fully automatic multi-point measurement with one click, minimizing human error
Professional software provides graphical statistical analysis of test results, accurately and intuitively displaying the test results to users
Equipped with a standard RS232 interface, it facilitates external connection and data transmission between the system and the computer
Experimental Principle
Place one side of the pre processed thin sample on the lower measuring surface, with the upper measuring surface parallel to and aligned with the center of the lower measuring surface, and apply a certain pressure to the other side of the thin sample. The sensor integrated with the measuring head automatically detects the distance between the upper and lower measuring surfaces, which is the thickness of the thin sample.
