Working principle of submersible mixer
Date: 2025-06-05Read: 9
The submersible mixer achieves mixing function by driving the impeller to rotate through a motor, and the core of its working principle is energy conversion and fluid dynamics. The specific process is as follows:
1. Power driven and impeller rotation
After the submersible motor is powered on, it drives the impeller to rotate at high speed, converting electrical energy into mechanical energy. The impeller usually adopts a spiral design, which pushes the water body to produce axial and tangential composite flow when rotating.
2. Fluid motion and mixing mechanism
Axial Spiral Flow: The impeller blades push the slurry to flow in a spiral manner along the axial direction, creating a strong axial driving force that propels the liquid forward.
Centrifugal force effect: The rotating slurry generates centrifugal force, further enhancing the efficiency of impeller rotation and increasing fluid turbulence.
Circulation and Shear: The impeller drives the surrounding water to form circulation and tangential flow, which destroys the floc structure through shear force and achieves uniform mixing.
3. Formation of gas-solid two-phase flow (special operating conditions)
Some models form a negative pressure zone in the guide groove when the impeller rotates to a specific angle, sucking in gas or liquid medium. The gas and slurry are in full contact inside the pump chamber, generating a gas-solid two-phase flow mixture and enhancing the stirring effect.
4. Continue cycling until uniform
The above process repeats until the material reaches a uniform mixing state.
5. Collaboration of key components:
Deceleration mechanism: Adjust the impeller speed to adapt to different viscosity media.
Double mechanical seal: prevents liquid from seeping into the motor, ensuring long-term operation underwater.
Design of flow hood: Optimize water flow direction, reduce energy loss, and improve flow efficiency.
Summary: The essence of a submersible mixer is to convert electrical energy into fluid kinetic energy through the movement of impeller machinery, use axial thrust, centrifugal force, and shear force to achieve mixing, and handle gas-liquid mixing requirements through a special structure.
