Maintenance methods for float aerators
Date: 2025-07-03Read: 10
1、 Daily inspection
1. Float status inspection: Observe the float daily for any shaking, deformation, or tilting to ensure it floats smoothly on the water surface and avoid affecting aeration efficiency due to imbalance.
2. Impeller and protective cover: After starting up, monitor the sound of equipment operation, check whether the impeller is wrapped by debris (such as water grass, plastic bags), and whether the protective cover is intact.
3. Cable and electrical safety: Check for any damage or aging of the cable skin, whether the electrical joints are sealed and waterproof, whether the grounding device is effective, and prevent the risk of electrical leakage.
2、 Regular cleaning
1. Float surface cleaning: Clean the algae, duckweed, and silt attached to the float every 1-2 weeks to reduce its burden and maintain buoyancy stability.
2. Cleaning of impeller and air inlet: Remove the protective cover, clean the surface dirt of the impeller with a soft brush or low-pressure water gun, and simultaneously clean the air inlet filter to prevent blockage and decrease in aeration rate.
3. Aeration pipeline maintenance: For microporous aeration models, it is necessary to regularly flush the inner wall of the pipeline with a high-pressure water gun to remove calcified sediment and ensure uniform release of bubbles.
3、 Key component maintenance
1. Sealing system inspection: Check the motor sealing gasket every month. If hardening, cracks, or signs of water leakage are found, replace the same specification seal immediately to prevent water ingress and short circuit of the motor.
2. Bearing lubrication management: Supplement high-temperature resistant lubricating oil according to the equipment manual cycle (usually 500-800 hours of operation time) to avoid overheating or abnormal noise caused by bearing dry wear.
3. Fastener reinforcement: Regularly check whether the bolts, chains/rope anchoring points are loose, and re tighten the parts with obvious vibration to ensure structural stability.
4、 Seasonal maintenance
1. Winter antifreeze measures: When the temperature is below 0 ℃, if the equipment is not in use, it should be lifted off the water surface and the accumulated water inside should be drained; During operation, it is necessary to monitor whether the ice layer is obstructing the movement of the buoy.
2. High temperature protection: Strengthen motor heat dissipation in summer, clean up debris in ventilation openings, and avoid triggering protective shutdown due to overheating; Solar powered models need to increase the frequency of solar panel cleaning.
5、 Performance monitoring and fault response
1. Parameter calibration: Test the aeration rate, dissolved oxygen enhancement effect, and motor current every quarter. If the deviation from the initial data exceeds 10%, adjust the impeller angle or check the voltage stability.
2. Common troubleshooting:
‌
(1) Insufficient aeration: prioritize cleaning the diffusion device, and then check if the motor speed meets the standard;
(2) Abnormal vibration: Correct the levelness of the float and replace worn bearings;
(3) Motor overheating: eliminate overload operation and improve heat dissipation conditions.
(4) Spare parts reserve: Keep readily available vulnerable parts such as impellers, sealing rings, protective covers, etc., and replace them in a timely manner when the wear exceeds the limit to shorten downtime.
6、 Safety operation standards
1. Power off maintenance: Before repairing any underwater components, the power must be cut off and live operation is strictly prohibited.
2. Professional intervention: For complex issues such as electrical faults and seal failures, it is necessary to contact the manufacturer or certified technicians to handle them and avoid disassembling them on your own.
By maintaining the above system, the lifespan of the float aerator can be significantly extended and the efficiency of sewage treatment can be guaranteed.
