Electronic leak detector is a new type of leak detector used to detect leaks of Freon and R134a in refrigeration equipment. It has the characteristics of small size, high sensitivity, easy use, and portability, and has been widely used in the production and maintenance industry of refrigeration equipment.

Instructions and precautions for using an electronic leak detector:

1) Put the battery into the battery box, turn on the power, and turn the switch to the "Freon" position. You will hear a constant "drip, drip, drip" sound. If you want to detect R134a, turn it to the "R134a" position.

2) Place the sensor probe close to the inspected part of the refrigeration equipment and slowly move it (usually at a speed of 2cm/s or less). When approaching the leakage source, the oil leakage gas is sucked into the probe, and the frequency of the "drip, drip, drip" sound will increase. At the same time, the indicator light will also start flashing. The higher the concentration of fluorine in the measured gas, the higher the sound frequency emitted, and the more indicator lights will flash. Based on this, the leakage location of Freon can be identified.

3) Keep it clean and avoid contaminating the probe with oil, dust, and moisture. If the protection sheet of the probe has been contaminated, carefully remove the battery, unscrew the protection sheet, clean it with aviation gasoline, blow dry it, and then reinstall it as it is. High refrigerant concentration can also contaminate the probe, reducing sensitivity. Therefore, when a large amount of leakage is detected, the device should be turned off and the leak detector should not continue to operate.

4) When using an electronic leak detector, be careful not to collide with the sensor probe, and do not disassemble it randomly to avoid damaging the probe.

5) If the electronic leak detector does not work properly during use, such as whistling, it should be checked whether the dry battery voltage is too low and whether the probe has been contaminated or damaged.
