The structural principle of stainless steel fermentation tank
Date: 2024-07-22Read: 5
Stainless steel fermentation tank is a common equipment used for fermentation and storage in industries such as food, beverage, and medicine. It has the advantages of corrosion resistance, easy cleaning, and hygiene. In this device, the fermentation solution is metabolized by microorganisms to produce products or intermediates, which are continuously mixed and ventilated to achieve control and optimization of the fermentation process.
Stainless steel fermentation tanks are usually composed of tank body, inlet and outlet, mixer, agitator, ventilation device, temperature control device, pressure control and other parts. Among them, the body is made of stainless steel plate, with smooth inner walls, no dirt, and easy to clean. There are usually multiple imports and exports used for operations such as feeding, discharging, sampling, temperature measurement, and pressure measurement. Mixers are commonly used to evenly mix various components to ensure the uniformity of the reaction. Agitators are commonly used to stir solutions inside stainless steel fermentation tanks, ensuring sufficient contact between microorganisms and substrates. The ventilation device is used to ensure sufficient oxygen in the tank, which is beneficial for the metabolic process of microorganisms. The temperature control device ensures a constant temperature inside the tank, thereby ensuring the normal metabolism of microorganisms. Pressure control is used to maintain a certain pressure inside the tank according to the reaction requirements.
Stainless steel fermentation tanks are used to metabolize substrates into commercially valuable products through biological processes such as microorganisms and yeast. The fermentation process involves multiple aspects such as nutrient composition, microbial metabolism, and biochemical reactions, and its success or failure affects the yield and quality of the product. The specific principle is as follows:
1. Nutritional components
Nutrients have a significant impact on the growth and fermentation of microorganisms. Generally speaking, sufficient carbon sources, nitrogen sources, inorganic salts, and other elements are required in the matrix for microorganisms to grow normally and undergo metabolic reactions. Different strains have different nutritional requirements, therefore corresponding to different matrix formulations.
2. Microbial metabolism
Microorganisms play an important role in fermentation. Common microorganisms include Lactobacillus, yeast, Aspergillus, etc. They produce commercial products by metabolizing the gases, energy, and nutrients needed for their own growth. The metabolic process of microorganisms involves related enzyme systems and metabolic pathways, and there are many influencing factors, including temperature, pH, and gas composition inside the tank.
3. Biochemical reaction
The products of biochemical reactions include fermentation products, intermediates, and by-products. The quantity and proportion of the three substances produced are greatly influenced by microbial metabolism, so the fermentation process can be controlled by microbial metabolism to increase the proportion of the target product.
