As a consumable product, the quality assurance and service life of ion electrodes are significantly affected by water quality conditions. The warranty period for this electrode is relatively short, only 3-4 months, similar to pH electrodes, and there is no longer a warranty commitment.
Under normal use, its basic service life can reach 1 year. If the water quality conditions of the application scenario are excellent (such as detecting clean water quality such as pure water and ultrapure water), the service life can be extended to 1-1.5 years, or even 2 years; But when the working conditions are average, it is recommended to replace it once a year or so; If in harsh working conditions such as sewage discharge outlets (with dirty water quality, such as detecting negative ions in sewage scenes), the service life may be shortened to 8-9 months and replacement is necessary.
Regular cleaning is the key to extending the lifespan of ion electrodes and ensuring measurement accuracy: after long-term use, impurities in the water can easily form attachments, covering the silicon chips of the electrodes, leading to a decrease in accuracy. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly clean the electrodes with pure water or tap water to avoid the accumulation of attachments and ensure the continuous and stable operation of the electrodes.
