What are the precautions for using a biosafety cabinet? as shown below
(1) Ultra clean workbench ≠biosafety cabinetThe ultra clean workbench appears to bebiosafety cabinetVery similar, but the ultra clean workbench only protects the samples in the workspace from external environmental pollution and cannot protect the operators.
(2) Do not usebiosafety cabinetHandling toxic, flammable, explosive and other materials.
(3) Open flames should be avoided. The thermal effect generated by open flames can interferebiosafety cabinetThe airflow in the operating area is stable, and the flame heat will affect the lifespan of the filter. If necessary, a ready to use sterilization device or a micro contact burner can be selected as needed.
(4) Please do notbiosafety cabinetPlacing too many items inside may affect the airflow and safety performance of the safety cabinet.
(5) Reasonable choicebiosafety cabinetThe installation location. Efforts should be made to stay away from external airflow interference factors, such as doors and windows, air conditioning vents, personnel corridors, and other laboratory airflow interference equipment (safety cabinets, fume hoods, etc.).
(6)biosafety cabinetUV lamps are generally not required in China. If a UV lamp is used, it should be cleaned weekly to remove dust and dirt that may affect its sterilization effect.
(7) Before and after using the safety cabinet, please follow the procedure to sterilize the surface of the cabinet. Use appropriate disinfectants, such as 70% isopropanol solvent, to wipe the working area surface of the safety cabinet, including the front and rear grille.
(8) Pay attention to the self-cleaning cycle of the safety cabinet. When opening and closing the safety cabinet, allow it to run autonomously for a self purification cycle of 3-5 minutes. This self-cleaning program can remove airborne pollutants that may exist in the working area of the safety cabinet.
(9) Ensure that the front window of the safety cabinet is at the correct rated operating height during operation.
(10) Proper attire provides necessary protection during operation. When performing high-risk operations, such as biosafety level 2+to 3 operations, long sleeved, back opening isolation gowns and two pairs of gloves should be used, and the outer gloves should be wrapped around the cuffs of the isolation gown. There should be no exposed skin.
(11) Operate within a safe area. Do not block the ventilation grilles in front and behind the work area. Try to operate in the center of the workspace.
(12) Follow the operating principles from clean areas to contaminated areas. The work area of the biosafety cabinet should be divided into three zones in sequence: the clean zone, the work zone, and the contaminated zone. Biohazard waste bags should be placed in contaminated areas; Experimental instruments and samples should be placed in the working area; The experimental supplies should be placed in a clean area. The experimental operation on the workbench should be carried out in the direction from the clean area to the contaminated area.
