What are the operating procedures for stainless steel activated carbon filters?
Date: 2024-10-21Read: 5
Stainless steel activated carbon filter is a filtering device for tanks, with a shell generally made of stainless steel SUS304 or SUS316L and filled with activated carbon inside. It is used to filter free substances, microorganisms, and some heavy metal ions in water, and can effectively reduce the color and odor of water. The main function of activated carbon filters is to remove large organic molecules, iron oxides, and residual chlorine. This is because organic compounds, iron oxides, and residual chlorine can easily poison ion exchange resins, while residual chlorine, cationic surfactants, and other substances not only poison the resin but also damage the membrane structure, rendering reverse osmosis ineffective.
The operating procedures for stainless steel activated carbon filters are as follows:
1. Principle: Organic matter in the influent is removed through the physical and chemical adsorption of activated carbon, BOD、COD, It can also remove color and odor. The specific design structure is a device that combines strong adsorption and efficient filtration. It selects carbon type to meet the requirements of upstream and downstream water quality changes, ensures water quality, can change the inlet and outlet, can use steam sterilization, is easy to operate, and the material of the activated carbon filter housing is stainless steel coated with anti-corrosion layer. Strictly control the production of water Cl<0.1mg/I.
2. Operation process:
1) Run backwash, stationary, and forward wash
2) High temperature disinfection
3. Operating principle
1) Operation: Open the upper inlet valve and outlet valve; The raw water enters the activated carbon filtration layer from the top and is then exported from the bottom to the lower level equipment. When the system is turned on for the first time, be sure to open the exhaust valve to allow the air inside the filter to be discharged.
2) Backwash: Open the lower inlet valve and upper drain valve; Water enters the activated carbon filter layer from the bottom and is discharged from the top to flush the sludge deposited in the filter layer and discharge it outside the filter. Start two raw water pumps during backwashing and flush with high flow for 10-15 minutes.
3) Static: The valve is fully closed to allow the quartz sand to naturally sink, resulting in a smooth arrangement of the sand layer. Time is 3 minutes.
4) Positive washing: Open the upper inlet valve and lower drain valve; Water enters the activated carbon filter layer from the top and is discharged from the bottom to flush the sludge deposited in the filter layer and discharge it outside the filter. Time 5-10 minutes.
5) Disinfection: Close the upper and lower inlet valves, open the steam inlet valve and steam exhaust valve, and introduce high-temperature steam for sterilization for 30 minutes.
