Working principle of 10ml high-speed oral liquid filling and capping machine
Date: 2025-08-12Read: 5
10ml high-speed oral liquid filling and capping machineAs the core equipment for low-dose liquid formulations in the pharmaceutical industry, its working principle is based on precision collaboration of multiple modules, achieving integrated production of oral liquids from empty bottles to filling and capping through automated processes. This equipment has a high-speed operation capacity of 100-300 bottles per minute, ensuring a filling accuracy of ± 0.1ml while completing the sealing treatment of aluminum caps. Its core logic is to compress the time difference of each process to milliseconds through the combination of mechanical transmission and photoelectric control, achieving efficient and stable continuous production.
The starting point of the equipment is the bottle conveying and positioning system. Empty glass bottles enter the bottle sorting turntable through the conveyor belt, and the bottle picking claws on the edge of the turntable separate the bottles at fixed intervals to ensure that they enter the main conveyor track in an orderly manner in a single row. The guide plates on both sides of the track precisely guide the bottles into the star wheel mechanism, and the arc-shaped grooves on the star wheel are in contact with the 10ml bottle body. The star wheel is driven to rotate intermittently by a cam divider, allowing the bottles to stop at the filling, capping and other workstations in sequence. At this time, the bottle support platform below the bottle body synchronously lifts and lowers, and cooperates with photoelectric sensors to detect the bottle position, ensuring that the bottle is in an absolutely centered state at each workstation, with a positioning error controlled within 0.5mm, laying the foundation for subsequent processes.
The quantitative filling system is the core working module, which adopts the plunger pump filling principle driven by servo motors. When the bottle reaches the filling station, the bottle holder rises to seal the bottle mouth in contact with the filling head, avoiding liquid leakage. The plunger pump controls the stroke through a precision cam. After each extraction of 10ml of liquid, the liquid is controlled by a one-way valve to enter the filling head from the storage tank, and then injected into the bottle through a nozzle. Since most oral liquids are foaming liquids (such as traditional Chinese medicine preparations), the filling head is usually designed as a slant mouth type, and the double speed filling mode of "fast first and slow second" is adopted - the first 8ml is injected at a high speed, and the remaining 2ml is filled at a reduced speed to reduce the production of foam. At the same time, the suction device generates a small negative pressure at the end of filling, sucking back the residual liquid from the nozzle to ensure precise and consistent dosage in each bottle.

After filling, the bottle enters the capping preparation station with the star wheel. At this point, the upper cover mechanism arranges the aluminum covers in a uniform direction through a vibrating hopper, and then transports them to the bottom of the cover grabbing head through the cover feeding track. The capping head uses negative pressure to adsorb the aluminum cap, accurately fastening it onto the bottle mouth. Then, the bottle holder rises again and sends the capped bottle into the capping station. The capping mechanism consists of 3-4 rolling blades distributed in a circular shape. The rolling blades are driven by an eccentric wheel and gradually tighten during the rotation of the bottle. In the initial stage, the rolling blades maintain a gap of 0.5mm with the aluminum cap. As the bottle rotates, the rolling blades gradually press towards the center, causing plastic deformation of the aluminum cap edge and tightly engaging with the threads or jaws of the bottle mouth, forming a sealed curled edge structure. The entire capping process only takes 0.3 seconds, and the pressure of the capping blade can be adjusted by a spring, ensuring that the aluminum cap will not break due to being too tight, nor will it fail to seal due to being too loose.
The synchronous control core of the equipment is the PLC control system, which collects real-time star wheel speed signals through encoders and strictly matches the execution time of filling, capping, rolling and other actions with the bottle conveying speed. For example, when the equipment runs at a speed of 300 bottles per minute, the processing time for each workstation is only 0.2 seconds, and the PLC needs to complete operations such as sensor signal reception and motor drive command transmission in a very short time. At the same time, the equipment is equipped with protective functions such as under filling and no capping, which can automatically remove abnormal bottle bodies through photoelectric detection, avoiding material waste or equipment damage.
From bottle positioning to final sealing, the 10ml high-speed oral liquid filling and capping machine seamlessly connects various modules to transform the complex pharmaceutical packaging process into efficient and controllable automated production. It not only meets the strict requirements of GMP for drug production, but also provides reliable guarantees for the large-scale production of low-dose oral liquids.
