Sampling principle of planktonic bacteria sampler
The planktonic bacteria sampler adopts microfluidic technology based on the principle of oil film optics, and its working principle is as follows:
1. The planktonic bacterial sample enters the sample container through the injection pipeline,
2. The timer inside the controller starts and controls the pump to inject separation solution into the sample container.
3. After mixing the separation liquid with seawater, a separation membrane will form between the two media due to the higher density of the separation liquid compared to seawater.
4. The thickness of the separation membrane is adjusted by the controller. The thicker the separation membrane, the longer the sampling time, and vice versa.
5. When the sampling time ends, the device automatically stops sampling and retrieves the sample container, and the collected samples can be used for subsequent analysis.
This sampling principle enables efficient collection and separation of planktonic bacterial samples, providing high-quality samples for researchers to use, while also helping scientists study the community structure and ecological significance of planktonic bacteria.
