The precautions for using laboratory ultrapure water equipment should take into account various factors such as environment, operation, and maintenance. The specific points are as follows:
1、 Equipment placement and environmental requirements
1. Ventilation and temperature: The equipment should be placed in a well ventilated and stable temperature environment, avoiding direct sunlight or near high-temperature areas. The recommended working temperature is 5-40 ℃. When the temperature drops below 5 ℃ in winter, the equipment should be turned off and the stored water drained to prevent freezing and damage to the pipeline.
2. Space reservation: At least 50 centimeters of space should be reserved around the device for maintenance and filter replacement.
2、 Operating standards
1. Start up and water intake: For the first use, connect the pipeline according to the instructions. Before taking water, discharge 1-2L of water to flush the terminal to avoid residual pollutants affecting water quality.
2. Parameter adjustment: It is prohibited to modify water quality parameters (such as resistivity and TOC) without authorization. Pure water grade should be selected according to experimental requirements (such as 18.2 M Ω· cm ultrapure water required for trace analysis).
3、 Maintenance and upkeep
1. Filter replacement: Precision filter (3-6 months) and activated carbon filter (1 year) need to be replaced regularly, and RO membrane and EDI module should be maintained according to water quality degradation.
2. Regular flushing: If it is not used for a long time, the stored water should be drained. In summer, the machine should be turned on every 2-3 days and drained for 3-5 minutes to prevent bacterial growth.
4、 Water quality monitoring and storage
1. Real time monitoring: Evaluate water quality through resistivity and TOC values (≤ 5 ppb), and identify sources of contamination in case of abnormalities (such as filter failure or pipeline contamination).
2. Container selection: For trace analysis, borosilicate glass bottles or PFA containers are recommended to avoid contamination from organic matter or ion leaching.
5、 Special season handling
1. Winter: When the ambient temperature is below 0 ℃, the power should be turned off and emptied. After thawing naturally for 48 hours, it can be used again. Forced start-up is prohibited.
2. Summer: Avoid direct heat exposure, regularly clean filter cartridges and pipelines to prevent microbial growth.
Through standardized operation and regular maintenance, the stable operation and extended service life of the equipment can be ensured.
