The airborne bacteria sampler is an instrument used to detect microorganisms (mainly bacteria and mold) in the air. It uses specific sampling methods to collect airborne bacteria and fix them on appropriate culture media for further cultivation and counting. The following are the general steps for using an airborne bacterial sampler:
1、 Equipment inspection
Before starting sampling, the following checks should be performed:
1. Ensure that the sampler is clean and dust-free, and that all components have been correctly assembled.
2. Ensure that the power supply is sufficient or properly connected.
3. Confirm that the flow rate and time settings of the sampler are correct.
2、 Preparation before sampling
Before sampling, the following preparations need to be made:
1. Understand the environmental conditions for sampling, such as temperature, humidity, and air flow.
2. Select appropriate sampling points to ensure their representativeness.
3. Configure appropriate culture medium and sampling time as needed.
3、 Sampling operation
Follow the steps below to sample
1. Turn on the power and start the sampler.
2. Place the sampler at the selected sampling point and maintain stability.
3. Sample according to the set flow rate and time. During this process, the sampler should be kept stable to avoid vibration and shaking.
4. After reaching the set time, turn off the power and end the sampling.
4、 Subsequent processing
After completing the sampling, the following processing is required:
1. Bring the sampler back to the laboratory and cultivate the collected planktonic bacteria on an appropriate culture medium.
2. After cultivation, count and record the number and types of planktonic bacteria.
3. Based on the measured data, conduct necessary analysis and evaluation to prepare a report.
4. Clean the sampler for future use.
