The working principle of an industrial chiller is that the refrigerant absorbs the heat of water in the evaporator and vaporizes it into steam. The compressor continuously extracts the generated steam from the evaporator and compresses it. The compressed high-temperature and high-pressure steam is sent to the condenser and releases heat to the air, condensing into high-pressure liquid. After being depressurized by the throttling mechanism, it enters the evaporator and vaporizes again, absorbing the heat of water. This cycle repeats.
The precautions for using industrial chillers mainly include the following aspects:
• Cleaning and maintenance: Regularly clean the condenser and heat exchanger, keep the cold water circulation pipeline clean, replace the filter screen and clean the cooling tower water in a timely manner to avoid pipeline or cooling tower blockage. At the same time, keep the surface of the heat dissipation coil clean and free of dirt, ensure air circulation around the machine, and ensure good heat dissipation of the equipment.
Operation and maintenance: Avoid overloading operation, do not let the chiller exceed its rated power and load, overloading operation will reduce equipment life, accelerate wear and failure. Regularly inspect the cable wiring, control system, compressor system, motor, and electronic components of the chiller, and promptly handle any abnormalities found to ensure the normal operation of the equipment.
• Temperature and humidity control: Pay attention to controlling the temperature and humidity of the chiller to adapt to the environment and process requirements. The stability of temperature and humidity can improve the quality and production efficiency of products.
• Water quality management: Regularly check the water quality to ensure that it is clean and free of impurities. It is recommended to replace the circulating water every three months and use purified or distilled water as the circulating water to avoid using tap water and prevent blockages in the circulating water system.
Antifreeze measures: In the cold winter, to prevent the chiller from starting due to low water temperature, it is recommended to install heating rods or add antifreeze. But antifreeze has a certain degree of corrosiveness, so when choosing, it is important to pay attention to the concentration as low as possible, avoid mixing as much as possible, and not use it for too long.
• Safe use: Follow operating procedures, use and maintain equipment correctly, and prevent harm to personnel and equipment. When the chiller unit experiences an alarm fault, press the alarm button first and then perform troubleshooting. The unit cannot be forcibly started until the fault is resolved.
Equipment distance and space: Ensure that the chiller has sufficient operating space to avoid equipment being too dense, which may affect heat dissipation and normal operation. The air outlet (fan) of the chiller should be kept at a distance of more than 50cm from obstacles, and the air inlet (dust screen) should be kept at a distance of more than 30cm from obstacles (different models may have differences, please refer to the equipment manual for details).
Reasonable setting of operating parameters: According to the actual needs of the production process, scientifically adjust the outlet temperature, flow rate, pressure and other parameters of the chiller to avoid setting too low or too high a temperature, in order to reduce unnecessary energy consumption and mechanical wear.
Electrical safety: Check if other components of the chiller are loose and if the operating voltage is stable. Industrial chillers are sensitive to power supply voltage. If the voltage is not stable enough, a voltage regulator can be installed.
