Working principle and characteristics of electric vacuum feeder
Date: 2025-06-11Read: 6
The working principle and characteristics of the electric vacuum feeder are as follows:
1、 Working principle
1. Negative pressure generation: The motor drives the vacuum pump (such as a vortex pump or Roots blower) to operate, creating a negative pressure environment within the system, causing the internal pressure of the hopper to be much lower than the external atmospheric pressure.
2. Material inhalation: Due to the pressure difference, the material is sucked into the hopper through a closed pipeline with the airflow. During the process, the filter separates the material from the air - the air is extracted and the material is trapped in the hopper.
3. Automatic unloading: When the hopper reaches the set material level or time, the vacuum pump pauses, the discharge valve opens, and the material falls into downstream equipment (such as reaction vessels and packaging machines) by gravity.
4. Filter cleaning: During unloading, compressed air pulses back blow the filter to remove dust attached to the filter and maintain filtration efficiency.
5. Cycle operation: After unloading is completed, the discharge valve is closed, the vacuum pump is restarted, and a new round of conveying cycle begins.

2、 Core Features
1. Efficient and energy-saving: Electric vacuum pumps have low energy consumption, high conveying efficiency, and are suitable for continuous production needs.
2. Fully enclosed transportation: The entire pipeline is sealed to prevent dust from overflowing, ensuring a clean production environment and complying with GMP standards.
3. Automated control: It can be automatically started and stopped through PLC programming or level sensors, achieving unmanned operation.
4. Easy to maintain: modular structure, self-cleaning filter cartridge with back blowing, reducing manual cleaning frequency.
5. Wide adaptability: suitable for powder and granular materials, especially for industries with high hygiene requirements such as food, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals.
6. Low noise environmental protection: The operating noise of electric pumps is significantly lower than that of pneumatic equipment.
Note: Compared with non electric (pneumatic) vacuum feeders, electric ones use motors instead of compressed air to drive the vacuum source, reducing energy consumption and providing better noise control.
