The working principle and usage scenarios of diaphragm valves
Date: 2025-06-17Read: 10
Pneumatic diaphragm valve is a type of valve that uses pneumatic force to complete switch control. Its working principle is as follows:
1. Structure: Pneumatic diaphragm valve is mainly composed of three parts: valve body, valve assembly, and pneumatic actuator. The valve body consists of two valve body shells and a diaphragm chamber, which are tightly connected by bolts and form a diaphragm chamber in the middle. The valve assembly consists of a valve plate and a valve stem, which are manufactured in an integrated manner and connected to the pneumatic actuator through the valve stem.
2. Working principle: When the pneumatic actuator receives a control signal, the vent hole opens and delivers compressed gas to the upper and lower sides of the pneumatic diaphragm valve. When the upper side receives gas, the gas in the diaphragm chamber applies pressure to the diaphragm, compressing it downwards and opening the valve plate; When the lower side receives gas, the gas in the diaphragm chamber applies pressure to the diaphragm, pressing it upwards and closing the valve plate.
3. Closed sealing: When the valve plate is closed, the pressure inside the diaphragm chamber rises, causing the sealing gasket on the diaphragm to tightly adhere to the valve seat, achieving bidirectional sealing of the valve.
4. Control method: Pneumatic diaphragm valve can control the opening and closing of the valve by changing the state of the vent hole of the pneumatic actuator (ventilation or shut-off). Common control methods include manual control, automatic control, remote control, etc.
5. Scope of application: Pneumatic diaphragm valves have the characteristics of corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and no leakage. They are widely used in pipeline systems in industries such as chemical, petroleum, pharmaceutical, and food, and can be used to control the flow and pressure of different media such as liquids, gases, and corrosive media.
