Microporous filter is a membrane separation technology, which is a cylindrical structure made of stainless steel 304 or 316L, with a foldable filter element as the filtering element. It has the advantages of high filtration accuracy, fast filtration speed, less adsorption, no medium shedding, no leakage, acid and alkali corrosion resistance, and easy operation. It can remove bacteria and particles in injection water and liquid medicine, and can be backwashed during cleaning. It can be composed of second, third, and fourth level filters according to different user needs to achieve the best filtration effect. It is widely used in sterilization and clarification of medicine, large infusion, pure water, and biotechnology.
The daily maintenance of microporous membrane filters mainly includes the following aspects:
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene: Regularly clean and disinfect the filter to avoid the accumulation of dirt and microorganisms inside the filter. This can not only extend the service life of the device, but also improve the filtering effect.
Regular inspection and replacement of filter membrane: Regularly check the condition of the filter membrane and observe whether there is wear, stains, and other conditions on its surface. If damage, deformation or obvious blockage of the filter membrane is found, a new filter membrane should be replaced in a timely manner to avoid affecting the filtration effect.
Reasonable setting of filtration pressure and speed: Excessive filtration pressure and speed may accelerate the loss of the filter membrane and even damage the filter. Therefore, setting these parameters reasonably is the key to ensuring the long-term stable operation of the filter.
• Regularly clean or disinfect the filter membrane: Clean or disinfect the filter membrane regularly according to the manufacturer's recommendations to maintain its performance. Do not use overly hard tools during cleaning to avoid unnecessary damage to the filter membrane.
Backwash operation: As filtration continues, impurities will accumulate, leading to an increase in inlet and outlet pressure difference. At this point, a backwash operation is required by opening the backwash valve and using hydraulic pressure to flush the filter from bottom to top, restoring its filtering function.
Operating procedures: including adding the material to be filtered to the filter, starting the pump, and adjusting the pump speed and flow rate. When the liquid level reaches the set limit height, close the inlet valve and pump power, wait for the material in the pump to be emptied, and then open the outlet valve to pour out the filtrate.
