Cy5-PEG-FA, as a functionalized fluorescent probe, integrates anthocyanin dye Cyanine5, polyethylene glycol (PEG) linking chain, and folate (FA) targeting group. How is Cy5 PEG-FA used to label antibodies or proteins?

Usually, Cy5 PEG-FA needs to be derivatized by replacing its terminal folate with an active reactive group (such as NHS ester, maleimide). Then covalently attached to the target molecule through chemical reactions, such as coupling with amino or thiol groups.
