Temperature fluctuations, humidity changes, and shrinking space make metal detection difficult for Pacific Nut Company. Yintaike Vistus metal detection machine provides a solution.
customer

Chilean Pacific Nut Company connects nut and dried fruit growers with consumers around the world. The company is located in Chile and has four processing plants and over 400 employees. Pacific Nut Company is affiliated with Empresas Sutil, one of the most important agricultural and industrial groups in Chile.
key points
The demand for dried fruits, raisins, plums, and nuts produced by Chilean Pacific Nut Company is constantly increasing. In order to fully prepare for the export of its products, the manufacturer has partnered with Antalis Abitek, a certified partner of Intico, to improve the issue of foreign object detection.
application
The Yintaike Vistus metal inspection machine is installed on a thermoplastic conveyor belt system with a pneumatic flap removal system.
product
Vistus ® Metal detection machine (600 × 125 mm)
Benefits brought to customers
Based on advanced metal detection technology, sensitivity and operational accuracy have been improved and stabilized.
Project objectives and implementation
Due to the increase in production, Chilean Pacific Nut Company has expanded its production and packaging lines for weighing, sealing, and box packaging. During this process, the metal detection of key points also needs to be improved. The previous metal detector showed a lack of detection sensitivity when inspecting packaging boxes of up to 10 kilograms of raisins. In addition, thermal fluctuations and constantly changing humidity conditions led to incorrect rejection. Due to limited space in the newly expanded production line, the customer contacted Antalis Abitek, a certified partner of Intico.

Installing a metal detector on a tilted motorized system is a space saving solution
Antalis Abitek has developed a metal detection solution based on conveyor belts. Intico has designed and customized a Vistus metal detection system for customers, installed at the exit of the two bulk product production lines before weighing and packing. The metal detection machine is installed on a tilted motorized system, which has a variable speed, pneumatic bidirectional diversion flap removal device and a thermoplastic conveyor belt, providing a fast and easy cleaning process (IP65).
As a partner of Intico, I benefit from the innovative technologies I can rely on. They help me ensure that we provide suitable solutions for our customers
Antalis Abitek Product Manager, Claudio Guzm á n Trivelli
By implementing a low height multi frequency detection head, it is possible to adjust the removal time and product passing speed according to the production process, achieving higher detection sensitivity and effective pollutant removal. The bidirectional diversion flap removal system device is pneumatically operated and used to detect pollutant particles inside the product. Compressed air is supplied to activate the flap made of UHWM, which is located at the discharge point of the conveyor. This will transfer the contaminated products to a stainless steel box, and using a thermoplastic conveyor belt can avoid product and liquid sugar scaling, making it easy to clean quickly. The cleaning and disinfection process requires a small amount of water and can be quickly dried.

All excluded products are removed from the product flow through a bidirectional diversion flap
In summary, the Vistus metal detection technology system has increased the detection sensitivity of metal pollutants by 40%, ensuring high quality assurance standards during the raisin export process. ”We are very satisfied with Intico's technology and the performance of our partner companies, "concluded Lucio Cordon, manager of the raisin factory at Pacific Nut Company.
