Chengdu Tianfu International Airport is located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China and is the largest aviation hub in the southwest region. The supporting cargo station is equipped with Intico's weighing system for weighing import and export goods. This is oneaA freight station equipped with a fully automated guided vehicle (AGV) forklift handling system.

key points
The original airport in Chengdu had a relatively small capacity. To meet the passenger and cargo throughput of Southwest China, the construction of the new Tianfu Airport has begun. The construction company Kunming Shipbuilding Group has chosen Intico as its weighing solution supplier for its freight stations.
application
Tianfu Airport uses a total of 54 scales ranging from 10t to 30t to weigh imported and exported goods at various locations such as cargo terminals, customs supervision warehouses, transfer centers, and inspection centers.

Project objectives and implementation
Chengdu Tianfu Airport hopes to adopt advanced technology in its cargo logistics system. Therefore, they began to cooperate with Kunming Shipbuilding Group as a freight logistics contractor and chose Intico as the supplier of supporting weighing solutions. Unmanned AGV forklifts are used to complete tasks such as receiving, weighing, shelving and ground storage, and shipping in the standard parts area. For these tasks, Intico used PR 6224 digital weighing sensors to design and manufacture these weighing platforms. This weighing solution is typically used for vehicle weighing and quickly achieving stability, ensuring shorter weighing times. These weighing sensors have higher accuracy, with a minimum sensor authentication scale Y value of up to 14000. The weighing sensor, when combined with the installation kit, always receives vertical force during operation, making it a better choice than the shear beam weighing sensor typically used for platform scales.

More than 50 scales were used for weighing at the airport.
The AGV forklift and its supporting system automatically decelerate before weighing to determine whether the platform scale has returned to zero and meets the weighing conditions. During the waiting period for weighing, the scale automatically recognizes the forklift information, reads the tare weight of the forklift and pallet after weighing, and automatically deducts it to obtain the net weight value. Upload weighing data to the customs supervision system through the Ethernet interface supporting MODBUS TCP/IP protocol configured on the Intel Maxxis 5 controller. The entire process does not require manual supervision, and accurate and reliable weighing and data transmission are reliable guarantees for fully automated operation.
We are very proud to provide solutions for such advanced cargo logistics systems. Our customized weighing platform not only requires less installation space, but also provides high-precision weighing results and high user comfort due to the use of digital weighing sensors
Zhou Mingxin, Project Manager of Yintaike

Combined with Intico's "DAT - Digital Assistance Technology", the PR 6224 sensor can collect valuable data about the weighing process.
Due to the busy flow of cargo entering and exiting the airport, efficiency and ease of use during maintenance are crucial. The PR 6224 weighing sensor uses digital auxiliary technology to easily query the status of each weighing sensor when connected to the Maxxis 5 controller. If any problems occur, the controller will trigger an alarm and prompt an error message. Maintenance personnel can therefore arrive at the site in the shortest possible time and quickly troubleshoot possible issues.
Another problem that has been overcome is insufficient space. Yintaike did not build forklift pit inspection holes next to the weighing platform, but designed inspection holes on the weighing platform. Therefore, the replacement of sensors has become faster and easier.
