The membrane filtration method for microbial counting usually uses an open filter that generates negative pressure through a device for filtration.
This device is convenient and efficient for processing easily filtered samples, but for difficult to filter samples such as emulsions, samples containing certain particles, etc., due to the limited ability of negative pressure treatment, it often requires long-term filtration. At this point, we recommend a more suitable solution: using a membrane filter for filtration.
Low risk of pollution in filtering operations
Ethylene oxide sterilization to avoid introducing contamination
Uniform distribution and strong durability
Pressure resistance ≥ 0.3MPa, ensuring safety
The hanging ring protective cap can automatically pop open under high pressure to avoid overpressure inside the cup body
Cooperate with the positive pressure filter of the bacterial collection instrument to efficiently process difficult to filter samples
Design a destructive opening for easy removal of the filter membrane
Multiple filter membrane materials and pore sizes suitable for different samples and requirements
For samples that are particularly difficult to filter, a large-diameter filter membrane can be chosen to further enhance the sample processing capability
1、 Installation
Open the membrane filter packaging in a biosafety cabinet or other clean environment that meets the requirements. Install the pump tube of the membrane filter into the peristaltic pump of the bacterial collector using aseptic operation methods.
Filter and rinse the test sample according to the approved microbiological examination SOP.
After filtering and rinsing, remove the microporous membrane according to the following steps:
01 Put on the hat stopper.
02 Grasp the cup body, use a film filter opener or suitable tools such as scissors or tweezers to clip into the gap of the cup cover and break it. Then loosen the cup cover along the gap and rotate counterclockwise to remove it.
03 After removing the cup cover and body, first use sterile tweezers to take out the O-ring, and then carefully remove the filter membrane from the membrane gap with sterile tweezers; Some models of O-rings have already been embedded in the cup sleeve (such as FC502), so use sterile tweezers to carefully remove the filter membrane from the opening.
04 Carefully attach the filter membrane to the corresponding culture medium plate to avoid the formation of bubbles. Cultivate and count at the specified temperature.
