Product Details

Adjustable detection load
By utilizing this unique patented feature, a wide range of applications can be covered, providing detection loads between HV1 and HV5 without the need to purchase different UCI probes.

Fast and reliable measurement
With user guidance, reliable and accurate hardness readings can be quickly and easily obtained.

Unique software features
Additional features such as sectional views and industry-specific settings allow for smoother workflows.

Numerous hardness units
Measurements in HV units can be automatically converted to HB, HRA, HRB, HRC, and other universal units that comply with ASTM E140 and ISO 18265 standards.

UCI measurement principle

The UCI (Ultrasonic Contact Impedance) method uses the same pyramid shaped diamond as the traditional Vickers hardness tester. Unlike Vickers testing, there is no need for optical evaluation of the indentation, allowing for fast and convenient measurement. The UCI method excites a test rod to enter an ultrasonic oscillation state. Apply a detection load through a spring with a force range typically ranging from 1 to 5 kg (HV1-HV5). When diamond is pressed into the material, the oscillation frequency of the test rod changes according to the contact area between the diamond and the tested material. The instrument detects frequency changes, converts them into hardness values, and immediately displays them on the screen.

Special foot support

The optional special support legs enhance the repeatability of measurements. It can be used for flat or curved surfaces. For curved surfaces, there are two different aperture sizes, one for diameters ranging from 5 to 25 mm and the other for larger diameters ranging from 20 to 70 mm.
