Handheld X-ray fluorescence spectrometerApplication in environmental soil:
Soil pollution has concealment, latency, and long-term effects, especially heavy metal pollution, which is basically an irreversible process. Due to the presence of soluble and insoluble particles in heavy metal pollutants, the residual rate is very high, such as cadmium, copper, zinc, lead, etc., which can reach 85% to 95%. Some elements such as chromium can even be absorbed by plants and accumulate in the body. Therefore, it is particularly urgent to quickly and accurately detect harmful heavy metal elements in soil.
Handheld X-ray fluorescence spectrometer, as a field, fast, and non-destructive detection tool, is increasingly being used to analyze harmful heavy metal elements in soil, providing a possibility for rapid and comprehensive detection of harmful heavy metal pollution in soil.
Traditional electrochemical analysis methods such as AAS or ICP require collecting samples from the site and transporting them to the laboratory. After sample preparation, standard setting, instrument analysis, data transmission, and other processes, the testing cycle ranges from a few hours to several days, which cannot meet the requirements of rapid and comprehensive testing of various processes in soil remediation, such as observation, research, follow-up, control, and remediation.
The SPECTRO xSORT is a new handheld X-ray fluorescence spectrometer launched by the German company Spike Analytical Instruments. It can meet the requirements of rapid on-site testing to classify polluted soil, which means that it can save a lot of landfill and laboratory analysis costs. The instrument can quickly locate and identify pollution elements, and identify the boundaries of "key areas" (see Figure 1); It can analyze all elements defined by EPA 6200 on site, conduct high-precision and high reliability qualitative and quantitative detection of harmful heavy metal pollutants in soil, and provide lower detection limits for elements. Simple and fast data transmission enables decision-makers to make quick decisions.
Faster on-site environmental analysis solution:
SPECTRO xSORT
Engineering service companies, government agencies, universities, enterprises, and testing laboratories need to conduct environmental monitoring and analysis on all soil, sediment, waste, and oil obtained from development zones, landfills, military facilities, cement plants, and even picnic tables. In most cases, materials need to be tested in order to remove or restore heavy metals and harmful elements using appropriate methods. However, large-scale on-site surveys often require hundreds of individual tests - especially when extensive, high-density hotspot surveys are necessary.
At this point, speed becomes extremely important
Please use the brand new SPECTRO xSORT
Handheld Energy Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence (EDXRF) Spectrometer
Without the need for complex sample preparation, the SPECTRO xSORT spectrometer provides very fast and direct elemental measurement and spectroscopic chemical composition analysis for environmental samples with complex matrices. It can achieve very low detection limits in a very short time, thus providing laboratory level test results quickly in on-site testing.
High speed "hotspot" detection
For most environmental analysis applications, the SPECTRO xSORT spectrometer displays results at twice the speed of similar instruments! Accurate preliminary measurement results can be obtained within a few seconds. Even for larger areas that previously took several days to complete, environmental assessments or large-scale waste screening can be done in just a few hours, greatly improving work efficiency.
Laboratory level detection lower limit:
Perfect PPM level precision detection
A few seconds of in-situ testing can provide fast results. Slightly extending the detection time can even provide PPM level accurate analysis of arsenic, cadmium, copper, lead, mercury, and the pollution of your choice. For qualitative or simple quantitative screening applications, the SPECTRO xSORT spectrometer is an ideal environmental assessment analysis tool. Unparalleled ease of use: aiming, firing, reading, installation and use of the next measurement product are simple and efficient, operators do not need to switch detection methods between different substrates (ore/soil), and there is no need for complex gas blowing or vacuum systems during analysis. The device adopts an integrated design, conforms to ergonomics, and is easy to operate. The weight of the instrument (including battery) is only 1.64KG (3.63lb), and operators can easily use it without specialized training in on-site applications. At the same time, the SPECTRO xSORT spectrometer also provides intuitive operating software among similar products.
