Overview

The CL5 precision thickness gauge is fully functional, easy to use, compact in structure, and sturdy in packaging. CL5 is used for thickness measurement of metal and plastic components. These components have complex geometric shapes and cannot be accurately detected using traditional instruments. By using the optional real-time A-scan, CL5 is able to display ultrasound echoes in real-time for accurate sensor adjustment and validation of accuracy testing for more complex shaped components. CL5 can conveniently and flexibly manage data through an optional programmable data logger and the use of a standard SD card. Its feature is intuitive operation, and users can use it on an easy to understand screen

Product Details

High precision ultrasonic thickness gauge CL5The CL5 high-precision thickness gauge from GE in the United States and Krautkramer in Germany is compact in size and has rich functions

The CL5 precision thickness gauge has the advantages of comprehensive functionality, easy use, compact size, and sturdy structure. The three soft keys located directly below the display screen activate various functions on the displayed menu. Using the four directional keys can easily and efficiently switch menus and browse text input screens. The graphic display provides users with six different operating modes. Users can choose between regular, minimum value scan, maximum value scan, difference/thinning rate, thickness+A scan (optional), or sound velocity test (optional). CL 5 uses a programmable data logger, which makes it easy to set up data files on a computer. The SD card storage system stores all data records and settings information on a removable SD storage card. After directly inserting the thickness gauge into the computer, the file format allows for drag and drop operations. Other data, such as digital photos, can also be stored on the same SD card.

This compact and versatile instrument also has the following advantages:
-High measurement performance provides thickness values with high stability and repeatability
-Six measurement and display modes: regular, minimal thickness capture, maximal thickness capture, difference and thinning rate, sound velocity test (requires CL 5V option), and thickness+A-scan (requires real-time A-scan option)
-All models have A-scan snapshot function
-Hollow/solid thickness values indicate coupled or uncoupled states
-The visual LED alarm reminds users that the measurement has exceeded the limit value that users can choose.
-Customer parameter settings for special configurations and quick instrument settings
-A flexible power system that can be powered by standard AA batteries or rechargeable battery packs.
-Multi language user interface
-Automatic ultrasonic adjustment performance (gain and gate control)
-Support multiple types of standard probes

Sound speed measurement option: CL5 VL
The speed at which sound waves pass through castings, alloys, or plastics can be measured to determine whether the internal structure of the material is tight and defect free. If samples of ductile iron with different spheroidization rates can be made in advance (by metallographic method), their different sound velocity values can be measured separately, and batch inspection of the castings can be carried out.

Real time A-scan option: CL5 AS
The optional real-time A-scan function allows users to observe the echoes being measured digitally by CL 5 in real-time. Observing real-time A-scan can help users adjust the probe and test piece correctly, thereby obtaining the best measurement value. Users can ensure that the measured echoes are correct and the numerical values are also accurate by observing real-time A-scans.

Data logger option: CL5 DR
The data logger option allows for quick storage of thickness values in file format. The user programmable data logger can store up to 10000 measurement values or 500 values with A-scan. Programmable data loggers can create data logger files directly from the CL 5 keyboard, or use flexible UltraMAite or UltraMATE software programs to create them on a computer. The data logger supports alphanumeric file names, standard linear and grid files, as well as custom linear files.
The expanded file type stores the thickness value, sound velocity setting, and other key data for each measurement point. CL5 and UltraMATE together form the * testing data management system.

CL5 Usage
CL5 is a user-friendly precision thickness measurement tool mainly used for components in the automotive and aerospace industries, especially for the following materials:
Casting and stamping metal components, such as aluminum, steel, copper
-Components made of bronze
-Machining workpieces
-Chemical etching components
-Metal strip, metal plate
-Plastics and composite materials
-Glass
CL5 can be held with one hand and placed on flat workpieces, making it the most compact instrument for measuring material thickness and inspecting steel plate corrosion.
