Electric motors are the core equipment in industrial production, and their safe operation is crucial. Insulation measurement, as an effective means of evaluating the insulation performance of motors, is of great significance for preventing motor failures and extending their service life. According to industry standards and recommendations, it is recommended to conduct insulation testing after the motor has been shut down for more than 24 hours. At present, insulation testing involves a large amount of manual work, such as disconnecting wires and shaking insulation. The entire process is complex, requires high strength, and takes a long time. Meanwhile, the detection data requires manual recording and lacks information and monitoring systems, making it difficult to process and analyze the data.

The instrument has functions such as insulation fault warning, alarm, disconnection monitoring, event recording, remote communication, etc. The instrument can also be used for monitoring the ground insulation of transformers, cables, and electrical equipment in low-voltage systems such as TN, TT, and IT. The product is suitable for various new construction and intelligent transformation projects in other industries such as petrochemicals, oil depots, mines, steel mills, etc.

Core functional features

■ Insulation monitoring function. Insulation monitoring can be carried out on non electrified TN, TT, and IT systems to monitor the insulation condition of phase lines or windings to ground. When the insulation resistance value is below the alarm threshold, the staff will be reminded to troubleshoot.

■ Warning and alarm function. It has 2 sets of independently adjustable settings, which can set warning and alarm values.

■ LED indicator light function. The panel has LED indicators for operation, communication, warning, alarm, and fault, which can display the product status.

LCD display function. Adopting a 128 * 32 dot matrix LCD display, parameter information can be displayed.

PK disconnection monitoring function. It can monitor the connection status between PE, KE and the grounding terminal. When any connecting wire is disconnected from the grounding terminal, the product emits an alarm signal.

Remote self checking function. Equipped with one input terminal, it can be connected to an external switch and closed for remote self-test.

■ Relay output function. It has 2 DO outputs, corresponding to insulation alarm and warning. The DO output can be connected to normally open (N/O, the same below) or normally closed (N/C, the same below) contacts.

Event recording function. It can record 20 alarm messages, including the type of fault and the time of occurrence, making it convenient for staff to troubleshoot.

Remote communication function. The product has one RS485 interface and adopts Modbus RTU protocol for data exchange.

Self check and reset functions. The product has a self check function, which allows you to long press the "return/self check" button; The product has a reset function. When the reset mode is set to manual, it will remain in a fault state after an alarm, and long press the ▲ key is required to reset.

■ Measurement protection function. The measured voltage of the product is DC24V, and the measured current is less than 200 μ A, which will not cause electric shock to the operator.

■ Rail installation. The product is installed using standard 35mm guide rails.

■ Plug and unplug terminals. The product adopts plug-in terminal wiring, which is convenient for wiring and installation.

Preventive maintenance: Conduct insulation testing on motors and backup power generators that have been shut down for more than 24 hours before commissioning, in accordance with the requirements of the "DL/T 596-2021 Preventive Testing Regulations for Power Equipment".

Fault locking: When the circuit breaker is disconnected, it automatically detects the insulation of the circuit. If the insulation is poor, it outputs a relay to lock and close the circuit, avoiding equipment operation with faults.

Data management: Replace manual recording, achieve remote uploading and trend analysis of insulation data, extend equipment life and reduce accident risks.

Motor insulation testing helps to detect and solve insulation problems in advance, prevent faults during motor operation, reduce the risk of electric shock to personnel, and ensure the stable operation of production equipment and personal safety. When the insulation is good, the circuit breaker can be closed; When the insulation is poor, the relay fault output of the insulation monitoring device can be locked to prevent the circuit breaker from closing and avoid motor failure after closing.
