The sample has a wide adaptability, but its sensitivity, peak separation ability, baseline drift, etc. are inferior to PtRh. It has a wide temperature range (can be used for high temperatures of 1650 ℃), low calorimetry accuracy at high temperatures, and large baseline drift (due to semi transparent crucible material causing thermal radiation loss). It is not suitable for measuring specific heat and is prone to react or diffuse with some inorganic molten samples (such as silicates, iron oxides, etc.)
