New Selection for Soil Moisture Profile Monitoring - SoilVUETM10

economy
Easy installation
Better soil contact
Accurate measurement of soil moisture content, conductivity, and temperature at different depths based on TDR measurement technology
summary:
SoilVUE ™ 10 is a product based on Campbell TrueWave ™ Soil profile sensor for TDR measurement technology. It integrates soil moisture, conductivity, and temperature measurement, and is specifically developed for researchers and environmental monitoring networks engaged in environmental research. SoilVUE ™ 10 reflects the innovation and progress of in-situ measurement technology for soil moisture, and is the preferred choice for monitoring soil profile moisture and other conditions.
Campbell Scientific's proprietary TrueWave ™ TDR technology combines advanced signal rise time and waveform analysis techniques in the industry to accurately determine the true transmission time of high-frequency signals. The measurement process will obtain high-resolution and smooth signals, and its performance can be comparable to other TDR measurements. It is worth mentioning that not all TDR sensors can achieve such measurement performance.
Advantages and Characteristics:
Quick and easy installation, with minimal impact on the soil's original state;
The sensor output is SDI-12 (version 1.4) digital signal, compatible with most Campbell data collectors;
Designed for long-term field monitoring;
A single profile sensor can simultaneously measure soil volumetric moisture content, relative dielectric constant, conductivity, and temperature at depths of 6 layers (0.5m model) or 9 layers (1m model).
Technical Introduction:
SoilVUE ™ The unique design of combining 6 or 9 three probe TDR electrodes into the overall threaded structure of the sensor can effectively improve the contact between the sensor and the soil, avoiding measurement errors caused by air gaps as much as possible. During measurement, the TDR measurement circuit inside the sensor will generate a steep rising step voltage signal, which will be loaded onto the spiral TDR waveguide. Finally, the sensor determines the dielectric constant of the surrounding medium through the signal transmission time of the TDR signal back and forth along the waveguide, and further combines it with a mixed model to calculate the soil volume moisture content.
SoilVUE ™ tenThe soil profile sensor only requires pre drilling a 5cm circular hole (slightly smaller than the sensor diameter) with a soil drill, and then screwing the sensor in. The installation process does not require the use of any other excavation equipment or expensive specialized tools.
The sensor comes with a cable that includes an IP67 rated M12 connector. When the cable is damaged, the connector can be disconnected on site and the cable can be quickly replaced.
