A spray tower includes an empty tower and a set of nozzles for spraying liquid. Its structure is shown in the figure. In general, gas enters from the bottom of the tower and is evenly distributed through the gas distribution system before passing upward through the entire equipment. At the same time, the liquid is sprayed by one or more nozzles, and the gas and droplets come into contact in reverse flow. After purification, the gas is dehazed and discharged from the top of the tower.
The advantages of spray tower are simple structure, low cost, low gas pressure drop and no blockage. Currently widely used in wet desulfurization systems. Its main feature is complete openness. There are no other internal facilities except for the spray nozzle. The nozzle is the main accessory of the spray tower, and it is required to provide small and uniformly sized droplets to ensure the effective operation of the spray tower.
