TRAC-II Leaf Area Index Detector, also known as Plant Canopy Analyzer.
As long as you hold this instrument and walk under the plant canopy, you can obtain parameters of the plant canopy such as leaf area index, clumping index, gap ratio, photosynthetically active radiation, and photosynthetically active radiation components. TRAC-II is a leaf area index detection instrument recommended by the Food and Agriculture Organization and used for correcting LAI2000.
The TRAC-II Leaf Area Index Detector was developed based on the leaf area index detection theory and algorithm of Professor Chen, a lifelong member of the Royal Canadian Academy. Compared with the first generation TRAC, the main improvements include: adding on-site processing function for mobile phones, increasing storage capacity by 256 times, adopting wireless network communication, improving detection accuracy, reducing sensor weight, upgrading and improving processing software to TRACWin 5.9.0 version.
TRAC (Tracing Radiation and Architecture of Canopies) is an optical instrument used to detect leaf area index and vegetation absorption of photosynthetically active radiation. TRAC detects leaf area index through gap size distribution and gap rate, which can be used for detecting leaf area index in forests, plant crowns, etc., providing a basis for research on forest carbon sink, forestry carbon sink, crop growth, etc. TRAC-II consists of two parts: a mobile phone and a smart sensor. It detects photosynthetically active radiation, exchanges data through a wireless sensor network, and calculates the results through mobile phones or computer processing software.
