Plate heat exchanger is an efficient and compact heat exchange device widely used in industries, buildings, energy and other fields. It achieves rapid heat transfer through the flowing medium between metal plates. The following is a detailed introduction about plate heat exchangers:

1、 Structure and Working Principle

Core components:

Corrugated sheet: made of stainless steel, titanium alloy and other materials, with a corrugated surface stamped to increase heat transfer area and turbulence effect.

Sealing gasket: Made of rubber or polymer material, it seals the gaps between the plates and guides the flow path of the medium.

Framework: The clamping plate, guide rod, and bolt that fix the plate are used to withstand system pressure.

Workflow:

Cold and hot media flow in opposite directions within the channels formed by adjacent plates.

The corrugated structure enhances turbulence, destroys the boundary layer, and significantly improves heat transfer efficiency.

Heat is rapidly conducted through thin metal plates to achieve heat exchange between cold and hot media.

5、 Limitations and precautions

Applicable restrictions:

The medium containing large particles or fibers is prone to clogging the flow channel.

Special structures (such as fully welded) are required for high-temperature and high-pressure working conditions.

Rubber gaskets are not resistant to organic solvents or high temperatures (usually ≤ 180 ℃).

Maintenance requirements:

Regularly check the aging condition of the gasket to prevent leakage.

Hard water or easily scaling media require chemical cleaning or softening pretreatment.
